Carol and I, along with our children, pray that your Christmas time will be as joyous as ours as we count our blessings, surrounded by our loved ones.

We especially delight in the many hundreds, if not thousands of people who have found new life in Christ this year through this ministry and the prayers and support you have provided. What a party we will have in Heaven!

“Joel Osteen, a bestselling author and pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, is teaming up with the producer of shows like “Survivor,” “The Voice” and “The Apprentice” to develop a new reality series.

"It's not going to be cameras following Joel or Victoria around the house all day,” said Donald Iloff, a spokesperson for the Osteens, in an interview with The Christian Post on Wednesday. He says Osteen's show will be more like “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” than “Jersey Shore,” in that its focus will be on helping people.

TMZ broke the news about the reality TV venture on Tuesday, saying Osteen and television producer Mark Burnett had reached an agreement to work on a new show together.

Burnett told TMZ the concept of the series is to show regular people going on mission trips around the United States with Osteen in an attempt to “start fixing things.””

Group opposed to Muslim TV show hit by 'terrorist hackers'

“The conservative Florida organization that pressured retailer Lowe's to yank its ads from a program about Muslim Americans claims that "terrorist hackers" attacked its website, forcing the group to shut it down.

The Florida Family Association, based in Tampa, objected to the TLC program All-American Muslim, saying it was "propaganda" that hides the radical agenda of Muslims. The program features five Muslim-American families in Dearborn, Mich.

David Caton, executive director of FFA, says intruders hacked into 15 levels of security, prompting them to shut down the system, The St. Petersburg Times reports. He also says he has received a death threat as well as a tip Monday night that the site would be attacked.

"In a country that supposedly embraces free speech, those that oppose our position have no qualms about destroying our free speech," Caton tells The Times. "This is the worst I've seen any group respond."

[Ed: The show wasn't controversial until Lowe's, McDonald's, Walmart, and a half dozen others — pulled their commercials.]

The brand new TV show featured on Cable TV channel TLC tries to depict Muslims as "ordinary patriotic" Americans but fails to deliver in its very first episode by featuring a radical Shia Imam Husham Al- Husainy. In the first episode the Imam is featured marrying a male convert to Islam to a secular Muslim women.

The Imam was exposed on the Sean Hannity Show back in February 2007. I remember listening to the actual interview live in which it was obvious the Imam supports Hezbollah a terror entity listed by the State Department. The Imam hates the the USA and Israel. You can hear in the interview what a nut job the Imam is and his gymnastics and crazy attacks in order to avoid answering simple questions.

The main stream media continues to propagate the illusion of a moderate Islam and moderate Muslims. The only moderate Muslims that can exist and based on the way the show is presented are the Muslims who act in a very secular way and the Muslims who follow the faith closely are a major problem when it both comes to sympathizing with terror or actually supporting it. Even the "secular" Muslims still have tribal instinct to side with the tribe rather than side with righteousness. We will continue to monitor the show as it progresses through the season.

I have just watched your remarks regarding Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith, recorded on video. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Church/Default.aspx?id=1465166

Shame on you! You have given the enemies of the Cross a great victory. Either through sheer ignorance of the Word or your apparent desire to never offend anyone, regardless of their sins, you have handed the Mormons a huge PR gift. You have insulted and denigrated the many former Mormons like me who have spent their lives bringing Mormons the truth and to the Real Jesus, who died for their sins on Calvary. You have defined our ministries and my life’s work as worthless.

You emphatically state: The Mormons are Christian. Are you completely ignorant of the fact that the Mormons have taught as a foundational doctrine that the creeds of all the Christian churches are abominations in the Mormons’ god’s sight?

What kind of research or study did you undertake before you made this foolish and unbiblical utterance? Did you check with Pastor Jeffress, a godly, Christian pastor? Or with Mitt Romney, a man working out his own godhood? Or did you just toss this out from your own lack of knowledge or as some sort of sweet sound bite?

Are you totally unaware that they have taught in their sacred temples for over a century that you and all other Christian pastors are corrupt hirelings of Satan, that you and your church are part of the great and abominable church and the whore of all the earth?

Did you not know that Mormonism teaches a restorationist theology, stating that the gates of hell did prevail against the Church and teaching that all power and authority were lost until God chose Joseph Smith to be his holy prophet to restore all things and lead this last dispensation of time?

Did you not know that the LDS church teaches they have the only true church, the only true prophet, the only true priesthood, and the only true scripture? That all others are false? That there is NO personal salvation outside their church?

Didn’t you know that the god of Mormonism is an exalted man-god who once lived on another planet in some other galaxy? That he earned his godhood through his good works and now lives on a planet near the great star Kolob with a harem of his many goddesses, making spirit babies to come to this earth to earn [their own] godhoods?

You say you “heard Romney say that Jesus is the Son of God and is his Savior -- and that is one of the "core issues."

You announced to the world, with a broad smile, that the Mormon Church and Romney are Christian and that the differences between Mormonism and orthodox Christianity are simply the same as the differences between Baptists and other denominations. How could you, as the pastor of one of our largest churches, say that so glibly?

Don’t you know that Mitt Romney is a man who is earning his own godhood and plans to people his own planet? That Romney is a Mormon High Priest in the Melchizedek priesthood? That the Mormons have usurped that holy priesthood as their own?

To pronounce them Christians, do you then agree with the Mormon doctrine that the Mormon Jesus is the brother of Lucifer? That he became ‘savior’ by a vote of a council of gods? That He is not the Word become flesh, not God come in the flesh, but was conceived through an act of sex by the Mormon god and one of his own daughters, Mary?

To have publicly accepted their Christianity, you must apparently concur that Jesus did not die as ransom for our sins on the Cross, but suffered for us in the garden, sweating great drops of blood, placing our personal salvation as conditional upon our works and our obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Mormon gospel. That Jesus’ death on Calvary merely gives us all resurrection so that we may be judged for our works and obedience.

Why do you think that the Mormons have over 50,000 missionaries out, primarily targeting Christians weak in the faith? If they are Christians, why do they target other Christians?

It is because they have success in seducing people who have not been taught biblical truth and discernment by pastors more eager to fill pews and sell books than guard their people from the ravening wolves who circle the flocks.

I am sorry, Pastor Osteen, but you have disgraced the Cross of Christ and bowed to some vile, politically correct dogma and publicly pronounced these doctrines of demons to be Christian.

These are not the quaint differences you alleged in your book tour interview. These are lies from the pit of hell. There are irreconcilable differences between orthodox Christianity and these antichrist teachings and doctrines.

The true Christian Church can never accept the Mormons as Christians until they confess these lies as sins and repent from them publicly. If a Mormon can attend your church and be openly accepted as a Christian brother or sister without being called to the Cross and repentance, then you are teaching a false faith and need to repent and ask forgiveness from the Church and Pastor Jeffress, the pastor you have just defamed in your foolish utterances.

The Marvelous Umbilical Cord

How could it have ever Evolved?

I was sitting in a doctor’s waiting room a few months ago and was reading the only magazine available there, one all about mothers and babies. With a choice of skimming through the magazine or staring at my feet, I chose the magazine.

One article was about the umbilical cord. It said something about there being over a hundred separate functions that this marvelous cord performed during the length of a pregnancy. Any birth required all of the functions to perform properly. Just as I got to that point, I was called into the examination room and went on with my visit and the day.

Fast forward to yesterday, as I sat in traffic, watching a small group of preschoolers, holding onto a long rope, following one teacher and being followed by another. I guess they were sort of herding them down the street from a nearby park.

As I thought on the wonderfulness of young, adventurous children, my mind went back to that magazine and I mused that children such as those I was watching and all my kids and grandkids could have never ‘evolved’ into such marvelous creatures.

The umbilical cord makes such an evolutionary process absolutely impossible.

Think about it.

The very first placental human child could never be born without all of the hundred plus functions up and working from day one. It couldn’t happen.

The Evolutionary theory of eons of trial and error could never produce a single birth any more than eons of swirling gases could end up as breathable air capable of sustaining life on earth.

Let’s take a look at the Umbilical Cord.

What does the umbilical cord do?

“The umbilical cord in placental mammals connects a baby in the womb to its mother. It runs from an opening in the baby’s stomach (the umbilicus) to the placenta in the womb. The average cord is about 50cm (20 inches) long. In the placenta, oxygen and food from the mother’s bloodstream pass into her baby's bloodstream and are carried to the baby along the umbilical cord.

Blood circulates through vessels in the cord, which consists of:

one vein that carries blood rich in oxygen and nutrients from you to your baby
two arteries that return deoxygenated blood and waste products, such as carbon dioxide, from your baby back to the placenta

These blood vessels are enclosed and protected by a sticky substance called Wharton’s jelly, which itself is covered by a layer of membrane called the amnion.

Towards the end of a pregnancy, the placenta passes antibodies through the umbilical cord from mother to baby, giving it immunity from infections for about three months after birth. “Then, what are the functions of umbilical cord? Mainly, it has three different functions. The first function is that it is able to serve the fetus a blood source. It is very important since the fetus is not able to breathe. It does not have either functioning lungs or an oxygen source. Also, it serves the fetus oxygen through the blood to serve the life of the fetus.

The second main function of the umbilical cord is that it is to serve the fetus a nutrients source such as proteins, calories, and fats as well. In addition, it is also able to serve the nutrients and also vitamins.

The last function of this cord is that it is able to transfer the deoxygenated and waste products away out of the fetus. It transfers those substances to the maternal circulation in which they can be processed and then excreted.

Then, what are the features that umbilical cord has? Basically, it is made of a substance which is known as Wharton's Jelly, connective tissue or skin. It carries some features such as one vein which has two arteries and oxygenated blood. The vein of the umbilical goes along the way to the liver of the fetus.

Here, it splits become two parts. One part of this vein is to supply the blood to the hepatic poral vein. It works to supply the blood to the liver. The other one is called as the ductus venosus. Another amazing thing about the umbilical cord. When the newborn takes that first breath, the whole thing reverses turns the whole job over to the baby.

Back to my first premise: The first and all following placental embryos , no matter how well into evolution they could ever be, could never have survived to full term and birth, without ALL the above things working perfectly.

It just could not.

Romancing the Gods

I was going through my old books the other day and came upon a small book, Gods, Sex and The Saints, by George B. Arbaugh, dated 1957. The title was enough to get me into the book and I skimmed through Chapter Two, The Romance of The Gods. Interesting to say the least.

Of course, it dealt with the doctrine of Plural Marriage and eternal procreation in the Celestial Kingdom, for all worthy Mormons…

Let me give you my one-minute lecture on this doctrine, often referred to as

“The Law of Eternal Progression.

LDS doctrine teaches that we were all born as spirit children in our pre-existent life on a planet near the great star, Kolob. Mormonism teaches that the god of this world, Elohim, was once a man on some other planet, earned godhood, was exalted and with many goddess wives, sent to his heavenly orb, where through sexual union, he and his goddess wives have been busy procreating enough spirit children to people this earth, over which he exercises his godhood authority.

Worthy LDS men and women, through obedience to all the laws and ordinances of the LDS gospel and through vows and sacred rituals in the LDS temple, learn the sacred words, handgrips and ‘passwords’ needed to enter into Celestial glory and begin the same process for their own planet. That is a pretty simple explanation for the core of Mormon theology and religious practice.

Back to the Subject at Hand

Yesterday, I was reading a newsletter published by the Home Owners’ Association at the development where we live. In it was a little section of “Interesting Facts.” It was quoting an article the writer read in a recent issue of National Geographics.

The article estimated that about 108 billion people have lived on the earth since the Stone Age. In another article I received by e-mail recently, the author estimated that it was about 10,000 years ago when the population began doubling.

From those figures, I stepped into the estimating game and came up with an amount that seems far more modest and is less than half the National Geographic figure.

OK. This is where I wanted to take you. Now let us do a little Math.

Let us say that Elohim and his wives have already procreated 50 billions spirit babies and sent them down to earth to gain bodies and earn godhood through the obedience to the Laws and Ordinances of the Mormon Gospel.

Ooops. Most were born before these Laws and Ordinances were available to test these people. Elohim sure goofed on that one. Well, Thank Elohim for his catch-up doctrine of Baptism for the Dead.

Because I am going to have many emails come in telling me that I did not account for Creationism or the flood, I am going to cut that obviously questionable number of people who have lived on the earth down to half and just deal with 25 Billions of people who have, to date, lived on the earth. Forget the National Geographic figure of 108 Billion for now. What do those people know, anyway?

What Kind of God Am I?

To procreate that many spirit babies, Elohim would have to impregnate one goddess wife per minute for over 17 million days, nonstop. Or, if he was also working at being the operative god of mankind here on earth and only impregnated one goddess wife every ten minutes, it would take him 170 million days. So many spirit babies running around. Must be a day-care nightmare. Especially since they have ‘form’ but no bodies yet.

Mormon leaders, in the past, have stated that the pregnancy time in the Celestial Kingdom is about the same as earth. I have trouble with that, since the goddesses are carrying spirit babies, same in form, but without bodies, so I am going to take license here and opine that such an easier pregnancy is just a 6 months deal up there in Celestialville.

Where are you taking us, Ed?

Ok. I have all the pieces together now for my outstanding conclusion. The fellows at National Geographic and the author of the Newsletter article gave estimates of how many people are being born on earth each year right now. I am going to work with the lesser figure of 140 million.

There are 3,153,600 seconds in a year. To produce that many spirit babies in a year, Elohim, in his powerful godhood, would have to complete approximately 4.5 [four and a half] sexual unions per second to keep up with the demand for spirit babies. Moreover, he must do that without falling over his scrambling goddesses as they swirled around him. Remember, Elohim and his goddesses have bodies of flesh and blood. Real people.

So much for taking care of any business as god of the earth. One might as well be praying to a stone for all the attention a prayer would have to get this guy’s attention. I wonder when he gets to eat or sleep.. no time for it.

The Overbearing Goddesses of Mormonism

If we look at this from the Mormon goddess viewpoint, and use the two spirit babies/per year yardstick, we come up with this unfathomable fact.

If 140 Million spirit babies are cycling through the Celestial day-care system per year right now and if we can agree that each goddess is giving birth to and nurturing two babies per year, then it requires 70 million
worthy Mormon goddesses to handle the twice a year, 5^th of a second encounters with the exalted hubby and the resulting child-rearing.

Let’s Get Real

We have no clue on how many wives Elohim took with him to that planet near the great star Kolob, but here on earth, there have not been a total of 70 million Mormons to date since Joseph Smith restored this gospel of eternal sex, as Granny Geer used to call it.

If Elohim’s home planet was actually big enough to produce that many goddesses for every worthy exalted man-god, than his earth was a whole lot different from this one he was given to exercise his godhood over.

Let's get real here. This is beyond absurd! This is beyond idiotic. This is so far beyond human logic and intelligence that to accept this fable, contrived by the vain imaginations of depraved leaders is to deny Christ and the reality of truth within God's Holy Word. It is beyond an anti-Christ spirit. It is the degenerate act of self-worship.

Dear heavens, Mormons! Wake Up!

The Mormons who live this lie Are without Excuse

If I Were In Charge!

Things would be a lot different.

I would:

1. Bring all our troops home from the mid-east. Let them fight it out among themselves and we will deal with whomever survives.

2. Put our troops on our borders and get control of our own country again.

3. Stop all Foreign Aid, especially to those countries, like China, who seem to have enough money to be buying up our debt, and those who use our dollars to support terrorism and buy weapons.

This especially goes for the ‘Palestinian’ thugs led by terrorists who wish to kill every Jew and destroy our strongest ally in the Mideast.

I would put the entire Muslim world on notice that to attack Israel will be taken as an attack on the USA and we will immediately, without notice, bomb the attackers out of existence.

4. Rename those billions as Domestic Aid and use it to restore our destroyed educational system.

5. Require the many ‘bail-out’ banks to return every dime they have not invested in bailing out home-owners.

6. Stop the yelling about the top earners paying more of their fair share when 48% pay no Federal income taxes. Go to a flat ten percent tax for everyone. That will end all the hundreds of tax loopholes. We can lay off hundreds of thousands of IRS employees, close hundreds of IRS Centers.

7. Set a flat rate tax for every business as well. Too many large corporations are getting away with paying nothing while others are buried with tax debt.

8. Cancel the Death [inheritance] tax and Capital Gains tax. Let the money keep working in the marketplace where it belongs

9. Prohibit government avoidance of tax limits by increasing old and establishing new ‘fees’.

10. Freeze personal property tax for every home owner at the e level of tax when the homeowner turns 65. Too many elderly people are being forced out of their homes by over- taxation. It is cruel and unjust.

11. Put an end to the system of giant container ships coming here from China fully loaded with goods and returning with a ship full of empty containers. Either return with an established minimum [ie: 25%] of full containers or pay a steep per-empty -container fee.

12. Limit the term of office for the senate to 2 terms [12 years] and the House to three terms [6 years] and place them on the same retirement program [social security] and health care as their constituents. If they complete full service, retirement of 50% and shared health costs.. incrementally less retirement benefits if less time served. No more political dynasties.

Today, a congressman can serve one term, get yanked from office and still receive full pay and health care for life. Great deal for them. Terrible deal for America.

13. Cancel every Obama Care exemption given to the Unions and certain industrial groups. Make Government Health Care an option among those already in the marketplace.

14. Immediately remove any Congressman or Senator [like twitter boy Weiner] who has disgraced his/her office and they would not be eligible for any continued benefits. When they stand behind a podium and whimper that they take full responsibility, let that be part of it.

15. Require that no unrelated rider can be added to any Bill in process. This should end the practice of pork politics. Further, Line item veto must be implemented.

16. Put an immediate end to the practice of by-passing Congress by setting up Czars who report only to the President and who have taken power to control American businesses and public policies. Send them all packing.

17. Put an end to the huge expense of flying Congressional, Senate and Administration leaders around the world on our dime. One recent trip, the President used up 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to plant one little tree. Great photo op, but at a ridiculous cost.

18. Immediately open up oil drilling within our national boundaries, where some of the world’s most productive oil fields sit and get out from under the grip of the countries sucking billions of American dollars from us, most of whom receive American Foreign aid as a bonus.

19. Legalize personal use marijuana. Set standard for home growing for personal use. Regulate and tax though approved clinics/stores as we do booze. Take away the street business from the gangs/ criminals.

There are a thousand fold more deaths/car accidents from legal alcohol than marijuana. Set a standard for “under the influence” limits as we do for Alcohol. Release all personal use marijuana convicts from jail and make room for the real criminals.

20. Ship every illegal alien convicted of a crime back to the country of origin. If they will not take them back, close off all entry to USA for any of their citizens, send their Ambassadors home until they begin to take responsibility for their criminals.

21. Establish a working and valid guest worker program that will bring workers here but regulate them, tax their incomes and send them home at the end of work programs, letting them return every work program season.

22. Make English the legal language of America. Require all documents to be in English. For example, Auto Drivers’ license tests should be in English only. I don’t care if the guy can drive, but it concerns me that he can’t read the most basic road signs.

In the Schools systems in the Southwest, we are maintaining two schools systems and graduating kids who still can’t speak basic English. We are laying off teachers because we are going broke but still have to do dual programs.

What other country is doing that? Certainly not Mexico. If you want you kids to go to an English speaking school there, you have to go to a private school. It is the same throughout Europe. But, here, we pay for it in the public system. No child left behind.

What is being left behind is my right to live a decent life of hard work and earn the security I need for my old age. Those things are being taken away from me at every turn, at every session of congress and at every level of government control. Their solution to overspending and poor management is always to get the money from the ones who still have a little left. Us.

I happened to pick up a copy of USA Today on Friday and discovered that we have less than a week before God starts to create world-wide earthquakes to destroy the earth.

Harold Camping, the Harold Camping who failed in his prophecy of the same world ending events in 1994, barely blinked and still claimed to be a true prophet is at it again.

This time, his organization has plastered their message in full page ads like the one I saw in USA Today, on billboards up and down the highways of America, on buses and trains and his followers are handing out thousands of leaflets with the May 21st, 2011 message in just about every major city in the country.

This doomsday news is being broadcast daily on Camping’s radio network, Family Radio (Family Stations Inc.)

One man gave his entire retirement savings to Camping for advertising. Another couple have spent all their assets so that they will be broke on May 21st, the promised day of rapture for the “true’ believers.

We can only hope for the rapture, but its not coming on May 21st because Camping proclaimed it. He is a false prophet without the integrity to admit it and his rhetoric has blinded many thousands of people to the truth of God’s Word.

Camping responded in his USA Today ad to the following scripture [he only quoted verse 32] by saying that “neither the son” referred, not to Christ, but to the son of Perdition, Satan. That is utter nonsensical prattling of a fool. Read it in full context for yourself.

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

The bible warns that in the last days, false teachers and evil men will come with doctrines of demons to fool even the elect of God.

Doomsday prophets have been crying out their false messages since Christ has risen and they will continue to do so until the actual end arrives.

Harold Camping is among such men. Pray for those he has led astray. Do not be deceived. He is a false prophet.

It is here that the SECRET NAME of the DEITY OF MASONRY is revealed. That name is “JAHBULON.” “JAH” is the short form of the Hebrew name of God, “Yahweh,” or “Jehovah.” “BUL” is a rendering of the name, BAAL. “ON” is the term used in the Babylonian mysteries to call upon the deity, “OSIRIS”! This is especially true if the one who presides over worship of this demon is also a Christian leader and Senior Pastor of a Christian Church.

How can the Holy Spirit of God be present in such a church where the Senior Pastor is kneeling at an altar before such a three-headed deity as JaoBulOn?

He can’t. It is pure evil and while he may leave his holy high priest robes at home, he brings that same demonic spirit to the pulpit every time he peaches.

He has broken the very first Commandment of God and gone after other gods, raised pagan altars and served this Grand Architect of the Universe.

JaoBulOn never designed any part of this Universe. It was done by the hand of a Holy God who calls such worship the works of evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, Jer 13:10

God calls evil what Pastor Tiner is doing and at whose altar he is bowing his knee. It is not just those in the Royal Arch who bow their knee with this man of God who has turned from his Master, but it is a curse that falls hard upon Levy Baptist Church and its people, young and old, the ones he is leading into a spiritual pit, as well.

For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. My wife and I were watching a CMA Music Special about a month ago and enjoying some of the old time songs shared by some of the great ladies of Country Music. In the final minutes, Carrie Underwood closed the Special with the marvelous hymn, How Great Thou Art. It was one of the most thrilling things I have ever witnessed and the music has been replaying in my head ever since.

Please take a few minutes and listen to it yourself. It will stir your soul. You cannot listen to this majestic hymn of praise and adoration without realizing anew the omnipotence of the Creator who did it all. I have probably listened to each word a hundred times and each time, new things about the mighty wonders of our God.

The God of the Bible

The God of the Bible is self-existent, eternal. He is immutable, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the sovereign Lord of the universe. He is the God of all creation. He is the God who stands outside all that He has created. He is the God who holds the heavens, all the universes in the span of His hand.

Listen to what He says about himself.

"To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

The very first verse of the Bible tells us a little about the width and breadth of His life and power. It says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Acts 17:25 tells us that He is the giver of life to all things. In Colossians 1:16 & 17 we read:

" For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

That doesn't leave much else out there without Him, does it? He proclaimed, “Is there a God beside me? I (God) know not any!”

I have spent the last few days going through the many scriptures that proclaim His mighty greatness. I list just here a few, so that you can catch a glimpse of His hand in all creation.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

The reason I laid out the Biblical evidence of the fulness and completeness of His Godhood is that there are lesser gods, creations of men, out there, made in the image of men who have created nothing and can save no one. To follow and worship any of these gods is to deny the God of Holiness and commit spiritual suicide.

The Lesser gods of Mormonism

Let me tell you about ‘another god’, a lesser god, a god who claims to be the god of this earth only. He is the Mormon god, Elohim. He is a god made in the image of man.

He is a god who never existed outside creation, but is a creature from within creation, making it impossible for him to be the God of the Bible. In fact, Mormon scripture states that he is merely a physical, exalted man.

D&C 310: 22The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.

This core doctrine of the LDS church is that this god was once a man and we men can become gods like him. It is called the Law of Eternal Progression.

Joseph Smith, The Founder of the Mormon Church and its key prophet to the “restoration of all things, clearly defined this bizarre doctrine:

It is necessary we should understand the character and being of God and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and suppose that God was God from all eternity.

I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did…

Here then, is eternal life--to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priest to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, namely by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one. . . . (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345-47)

This doctrine teaches that Elohim was once a man, living out the gospel on some other orb and was obedient to the laws and ordinances of the gospel, as given by his own god of that planet.

When he died and was judged, he was exalted to godhood and sent to live on a planet near the great star, Kolob, with his many goddess wives. Here, he and his wives have been busy procreating millions of spirit children who have been and will continue to be sent to this earth to gain bodies, live the laws of the gospel and earn their/our own godhood and be given the godhood over our own world.

You have to understand that by submitting to this doctrine, the Mormons are polytheists. Believing in many gods and even daring to seek godhood themselves. A cursed thing from God’s mouth to his Prophets.

Recently I shared how one Mormon said to a friend, “There are many gods throughout the universes, but we only worship the god of this world.” My friend responded.. “Polytheism is the belief in many gods, not the worship of them all.”

So, The Mormons defy the God of all creation, make a god in the image of man and worship the false god their false prophet said is the man-god assigned over just this earth.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

This Mormon god is an idol made through
the vain imaginations of fools.

Someone a lot smarter than me said, "An inadequate view of God is actually idolatry. To worship God or to worship anything less than what God has revealed Himself to be is idolatry.”

So, understand that the Mormons have this man-god who is god of just the earth, the heavens above, and not even the god of this sun or the moon or Venus or Mercury. Just the god of this earth.

Mormon theologians say that everything was spirit first, then physical and that Elohim, with the help of Jesus, re-organized matter already in existence, created and placed the earth and prepared it for mankind to come, gain bodies and work to become gods and goddesses themselves.

Think on the absurdity of this illogical foolishness. Somehow, they haul this earth from its construction site and plop it into orbit between Venus and Mars, without upsetting the orbits of the other 8 planets or have it be sucked into the gravity of the sun along the way.

Somehow, the moon kind of attaches itself to this globe, creates its own orbit that coincides with the orbit of this new planet and the night and day that the real God created comes into play.

Well, that’s all well and good and faithful Mormons do not think about this because it is too confusing.

1 Cor 8:5-6
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many, But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Just think about this for a minute! This Elohim god of Mormonism was just one of many thousands of righteous men from his planet who made godhood and each of these new gods received his own celestial glory, many goddess wives and was assigned godhood over his own earth-like planet. Each assigned to populate this planet was spirit children, giving them bodies so they, too, can become gods…

Those righteous Mormon men and women who were sent to this earth by this god, Elohim, and who have fulfilled all law, will than become hundreds of thousands of gods born out of this planet. I mean, there have been and will be tens of millions of Mormons during this age. Let’s hope at least a few hundred thousands make the grade.

Let’s at least assume that the General Authorities, Prophets, Apostles, Presiding Bishops, Temple Presidents and workers, Stake and Ward leaders and many of the hundreds of thousands of Missionaries fall into this category and make it to the celestial glory and become gods and goddesses and earn their own planet to continue the ever looping Law of Eternal progression. Wow. Just saying that wears me out.

Must we assume that every Jesus of every planet fails and apostasy and restoration takes place and each planet has its own Joseph Smith to bring in their own final dispensation?

Maybe the Adam and Eve of a few of the millions of new god- planets may actually stand fast and not partake of the forbidden fruit and there is no need for a Savior and no laws to break? No need for an apostasy or restoration? How do these folks get a chance to be tested for godhood?

This entire theological plan of LDS Salvation, exaltation, godhood and the creation of earths without end falls apart in the shredder of simple logic. Yet, millions of Mormons walk through this fable created by a lying prophet, on their way to a spiritual death sentence.

Isa 9:15-16
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

Now, along comes the new, Emergent Mormon Church

The new, Emergent Mormon church does not want its people to worry about such complex things. They now quote the Christian version of Creation, using the first few chapters of Genesis and slip in along-side the Emergent Christian Churches where only feel-good stuff is discussed and really don’t want their followers to talk about the root doctrine of their faith openly any more.

Yet, the Biblical account and their account miss each other by ten country miles. Both cannot be true. Their account of creation is in direct conflict with the biblical account. Their solution. Do not talk about it from the pulpit and do not discuss it with anyone outside the church.

Yet, Mormon Temples, absolutely necessary for godhood, are spreading across the planet as fast as they can build them. The only purpose for their use is to baptize the dead and to perform the ordinances and endowments their worthy people must participate in so that they can become gods and goddesses for some other world like earth.

This is akin to something like a spiritual Amway, where each god has a higher level god above him who has his own god above him and on back into the eons of reverse eternity.

I talked about this double talk, double think, and cross-over from their leaders condemning Christianity to wanting to be counted in with all Christians, even as they send out tens of thousands of missionaries to pull the lost from the church of the devil. These false prophets can smile and grin all they want and the general, seeker friendly Christian church smiles right back. But these Mormons leaders are liars and deceivers and lead their people to a Christless eternity.

1 Nephi 14:10

10 And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.

This is a time when we must get back to the basics of our faith and stop this slide into Christian emptiness. As so many Christian churches slip into this ecumenical, universalist apostasy and the Mormons swing over into their own form of the Emergent, seeker friendly world, the two will soon meet in the middle and millions will be lost to Christ.

The name and nature of the Masonic deity is an offense to the one true God. It is taught in the Royal Arch degree that Masonry draws its teachings and powers from three great teachers and gods. The combined deity is represented as a three headed snake, whose name is Joa:Bul:On, which stands for Jehovah, Baal and Osiris, Now the Mason who pronounces that name in the Masonic prayer of worship has just simply defiled the Holy name of God.

That Mason, who has so defiled the Holy name of God has broken the first Commandment of God and has lost his salvation. The “Christian” Mason foolishly seeks to keep the God of the Bible for his Sundays while worshipping idols and that is a grievous sin and leads to certain, eternal damnation.

The Teflon Muslim President

I don't understand something. For a Muslim, to convert from Islam to Christianity carries a death penalty. It is a cursed thing for a Muslim to do.

Obama admits he was raised as a Muslim in Indonesia, His passports at that time said he was a Muslim. Went to college here under a foreign student visa as a Muslim.

Yet he 'converts' to Christianity [Rev. Wright’s style of ‘black liberation’ anti-white and anti-American form of Christianity] and bows to Muslim leaders as required of a Muslim.

I think he is a closet Muslim and they know it. He certainly has shown a very weak commitment to Christ, afraid to use the word even at the national prayer breakfast, yet honors Mohammed in a number of his actions.

Refused to acknowledge the National Day of Prayer at the White House, yet had a House full of Muslim leaders over for dinner for Ramadan.

Schools, colleges and Military facilities are now including Muslim foot washing stalls and allowing Muslims time off to do their daily prayers while Christians cannot even bow in silent prayer.

I think that he will return to the faith of Allah at beginning of next term and the whole Islamic world will get a big chuckle out of it. They knew it all along.

Tie it into what is happening in the mid East and watch as the openly radical Muslim Brotherhood takes control in Egypt and begins its rabid anti- Israel moves, working with Hamas and Hezbollah. This is the same Muslim Brotherhood already active here in the USA.

Sharia law is already becoming part of the American Justice system. Muslims are flowing into the USA, not to assimilate, but to eliminate. They are settling in and pushing their agenda of making Islam the Religion of the world and the platform for the Anti-Christ. They are fully involved in what they call the “process of Settlement”.

"The process of settlement is a "Civilization-Jihadist Process" with all the word means. The Ikhwan ("The Muslim Brotherhood") must understand that their work in America is a king of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion (Islam) is made victorious over all other religions."

Dear friends, I have been watching the news lately and it astounds me daily. Things across the world are spiraling down a rocky path at a mach 10 speed. I am not an end-times prophet by any means but I am concerned about the things I see and read every day.

The terrible earthquake and that killer tsunami in Japan was just the tip of the iceberg there, as whole cities were destroyed in minutes and radiation is spreads in the winds and into their food sources, lungs and kidneys and other organs at a pace faster than anyone will admit. Today, the news was that their run-off cooling water pumped from the sea into the atomic power plants is now high in radiation and leaking back into the sea and across the oceans. Another giant quake there would destroy Japan for a hundred years to come.

In California, where everyone is predicting the BIG ONE, it has several plants sitting right on the edge of the Pacific and next to both the San Andreas Fault and extremely dense population centers. There is also the jet stream, running west to east that can carry radiation across the whole of the country, right across our farming belts.

People are still sleeping in the streets after the Haiti earthquake and another one there would destroy that entire nation. It may never recover from the last one.

Scientist say that the most dangerous potential earthquake in the USA is not the California mega one that will rip the state in two. Killer floods are sweeping across the world, From Australia to America to Asia, bringing death and disease. Cyclones and tornados are sweeping across the globe at an ever-faster pace then in recorded history.

Now, along with radical Islamic terrorist acts across the world, the mid-east is in even more turmoil and the tribal social structures that have been in place for centuries are crumbling around madness and we are now involved in our third war there, trying to take out a tyrant who we happily treated as our friend a year ago. The whole of the Muslim world is volatile, exploding in new ways and directions every day.

Yet, the underlying base of it all is radical Islam and Sharia law and the rabid hatred for America and Israel. Of course, groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda are in the middle of these riots, waiting to pick up the pieces, lauded even by our own government as peacemakers when their own leaders call out for death to Christians and Jews. Radical Islam is winning in the mid-east and coming this way soon!

Iran continues to arm itself with nukes and the promise to rain down death on Israel and we are powerless to stop them from achieving their goals. The US openly acknowledges that Syria has hundreds of missiles armed with chemical and nuclear warheads aimed directly at Israel.

Syria, Lebanon and Iran have armed both the terrorist groups of Hamas and Hezbollah – Party of God, with tens of thousands of missiles to pour down death from the skies from both the Lebanon border and the Gaza strip where terrorists are already beginning their ‘death to all Jews’ campaign afresh. Just today, another terrorist bomb went off I the middle of Jerusalem.

I do believe that while that first Syrian missile is still on its way to Jerusalem, this scripture will become true: “Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” Isa 17:1. If you read the Bible, you know how that war will end.

Even in our own country, people are marching and screaming for money that does not exist from governments that are billions in debt already. Those leaders who resist the mobs and try to do the work of their offices are demonized by our own ‘masses’ following the radical Islamists’ methods of getting their way.

We, as a nation, have disgraced the Bible and the foundational principles within it that helped form this nation and its laws and our leaders stand in defiance of them. Being a Christian is a cursed thing to the world who is embracing Islam in its place.

Let us not even go into the problems with immigration as our country is being overrun by illegal immigrants, among who are the drug dealers and criminals that prey upon us.

Today, our economy is in the tank and jobs, homes, savings are being lost at the greatest rate since the great depression and our just this week, government gave Brazil 9 Billion dollars to beef up their oil industry while our own is bankrupt.
I pray daily for this nation, its leaders and the world. However, I sense the end times are falling upon us. Jesus, Himself, gave us a clue.

13 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! 2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Friends, I stand ready to be that testimony. Are you ready? I am less concerned about the fulfillment of Bible prophecy in this era than I am for the still lost souls who will never know Jesus because we could not reach them all. These are those that will be the stubble left behind, their souls separated from God for all eternity. We must make every moment count for souls.

TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE

I recently shared an article with you about the “Emergent Mormon Church” [Read it on our website] and how it was following the lead of the Christian “Seeker Friendly” and “Emergent Church” groups that have powered down their Christian witness to wash away the shed blood of Christ and turn it to water.

This month, The National Association of Evangelicals [NAE] held its semi- annual meeting in Park City, Utah, on March 10, 2011, promoting a program of reconciliation, forgiveness, acceptance and fellowship with the Mormons. Much was said privately by their leaders about Mormonism being a cult group, but their actions belied their testimony.

The panels were formed of only those people who have already thrown in with their Mormon Christian friends, men like Greg Johnson, From Standing Together, who travelled about with LDS Apologist, Robert Millet, sharing the wonderful things we all have in common.

Another example of the Christian Faith was Dr. Richard Mouw, president of Fuller Seminary in California, who had already disgraced all those who work to bring Mormons to Christ when in the historic Mormon Tabernacle on November 14, 2004, when he said,

…my evangelical forebears hurled angry accusations and vehement denunciations at the Mormon community-a practice that continues from some evangelical quarters even into this present day."
Then added:

“I am now convinced that we evangelicals have often seriously misrepresented the beliefs and practices of the Mormon community. Indeed, let me state it bluntly to the LDS folks here this evening: we have sinned against you. The God of the Scriptures makes it clear that it is a terrible thing to bear false witness against our neighbors, and we have been guilty of that sort of transgression in things we have said about you.”

LDS “apostle” Jeffrey Holland gave a speech there and then answered questions for an hour! Surprisingly, not one person or ministry to the Mormons who might say something that might break the “sweetness of the event” was invited to speak or sit on any panel. Dear people, we workers in this field have been sold out by false Christian leaders.

Forget about the harm Glenn Beck or Mitt Romney may do to this cause. The Christian church in America is being devoured by ravening wolves in our own flocks, and not just in the flocks, but the very leaders of the church. And Leith Anderson, NAE President is a leader in that pack.

ONE FINAL NOTE ON THE POSITIVE SIDE..

I received this in an email from an old acquaintance from years gone by:

When I’m approached by LDS who want to tell me how wonderful their church is, I always tell them how much I admire aspects of their religion and mention that we still have friends who are faithful members.

“But, you know,” I say, “the one thing I simply can’t get past is trying to reconcile the polytheism of your church with Christianity, which is forthrightly monotheistic.”

One “Elder” responded, “But we worship only one god,” at which point I explained that polytheism has nothing to do with the number of gods you worship but the number you believe in.

By that standard, both Joseph Smith and B.H. Roberts have made it clear that Mormonism is a polytheistic faith.

All The Drug Dealers Are Not on The Streets

Let me do a bit of ranting. If you have a medicine cabinet full of pills, you really need to read this!

I just spent the last three years in and out of hospitals, medical clinics, specialists’ offices and being hauled with some regularity to ERs when I would go into a seizure or pass out in public. I have had every test known to the medical profession.

I gave up any chance of driving, spent my time in wheelchairs, pushed walkers across rooms and when things were doing well, I could use a cane get from room to room. The medications they gave me to control the seizures turned me into a zombie.

After a visit with one neurologist I was told there was nothing neurologically wrong with me and I should perhaps seek mental health treatment. Finally, I recently decided to do some intense research on the medications I have been taking.

Bear in mind, every one of the dozens of specialists, hospitals and medical researchers I have been seeing for these three years, demand that I bring all my medications with me for every visit. Each visit starts with them looking over my meds before they even look my way.

One of my meds was Pravastatin, for high Cholesterol. After reading the usual warnings on the pharmacy paperwork, I went to the web and Googled, “Pravastatin side effects.”

I went to www.webmd.com and it referred me to a second website that referred me to a study on the side effects of Statin medications, by some doctors for the Journal of America Medical Association.

By this time, I had only been looking for maybe twenty minutes. Not a tough study. On the second page, half way down, they described, as uncommon but dangerous side effects, every one of the debilitating symptoms I had been suffering with for three years.

Not one doctor or medical professional in the dozens who had dealt with me for three years had a clue. I threw out the bottle of pills and within a month I was back to normal, able to drive, walk, talk and almost dance. Got my clubs out and will be that wild man in the foursome ahead of you one of these days.

When I spoke to several doctors who had missed this, each sighed and shrugged saying, “Well, yeah, those statins can be bad stuff.” End of their responsibility for such harm for so long.

Last week, still feeling like I was ten years younger., I was watching a TV commercial for a med, Celebrex, that I take for osteo-arthritis.

Because my wife was on the phone, I put closed captions on and for the first time, watched an old guy [younger than me] walk down a wooden walkway to a beach to play frisbee with his dog, happy that the celebrex gave him such freedom.

Then the bewares scrolled across the screen. Do not take if you have a history of heart problems [would my heart attack qualify?], over 70 [whoooah, got me there], have high blood pressure [Isn’t that why they gave me Benicar?] because, the warning said, this drug taken with these conditions could lead to death and at the least, give you serious stomach and digestive problems [hello! Anybody out there? I live with this stuff]

It also mentioned that it can cause rashes and lot of bad itching [That’s why the doctors have given me 15 different, unsuccessful itching and rash creams, lotions, sprays and pills that never work]

Well. I won’t bore you any more with my aches and pains. I got up, threw the Celebrex in the trash and a week later, all those symptoms left.

I am so happy that I can walk and enjoy life after such a long time of medical misery. I am thrilled. Yeah, the arthritis is a pain, but better than the constant digestive problems and the itching.

However, I took control of my own health for a change. You have to wonder what has happened to the medical profession. How could that many doctors and hospitals let such things happen.

Over the years of my suffering, the only help to any of my problems have been more medicines to mask the problems with other medicines. It is an endless, dangerous cycle

Today, the doctors have these cell-phone-sized computerized indexes of every medicine out there, with all the side effects and the problems that sometimes caused by using with another med. I am inclined to think these little machines, probably provided by some drug company salesman, share more about the kick-back the doctors get for prescribing certain meds than dealing with the toxic damage they can cause the patients.

End of my Rant.

Now, get your own pill boxes out and do your own research on the side effects. Because, if you are living the kind of miserable life I just went through, chances are you are taking medications that are doing you far more harm than good.

No, all the drug dealers are not on the streets. Many of them are in doctors’ offices and hospitals. Remember the adage, Buyer Beware? Well, now it is Patient Beware! Especially as we get older and those who care for our health seem more concerned about their bottom line than your health.

The Great BYU Invitational Battle to the Death

THE GREAT BYU INVITATIONAL

What is it?

A fight to the point of extinction!

Hypothetically, imagine a war between Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Picture over 30,000 students on either side, plus their families of over a hundred thousand each. The goal? Kill every opponent from the strongest man to the feeblest adult and the smallest baby.

Yes, that is far-out, since these universities have nothing to do with such barbarianism. Yet, many people believe a similar story from the Book of Mormon, the greatest war in the history of our hemisphere. The Book of Mormon people, the Jaredites, split into warring factions as two armies fought to extinction in New York State between 600-300 BC. One army had two million “men” plus women and children, making it at least four million people (Ether 15:2).

The other side was its equal. So a mere 260,000 at BYU is nothing in comparison to an excess of eight million on the little hill Cumorah Utah has less than three million people. Eight million could fill the LA basin. Or imagine the complete population of NYC on the campus of BYU. You couldn’t breathe, let alone fight! If the other great cities of New York State converged upon Cumorah, they would include Buffalo 270,240, Rochester 207,294, Yonkers 201,066, Syracuse 138,560, Albany 93,836, Cheektowaga 77,500, New Rochelle 74,281, Mount Vernon 68,815, and Schenectady 61,469. That makes just 1,193,031, not even close to two million.

The LDS leadership urges its members to leave LDS geography alone, but everyone should know about Cumorah. The church nervously changes the locations so now it may be at one of two locations of the Mexico-Guatemala-Honduras area. How odd that a wealthy church with its own revelator cannot find Cumorah! Riley L. Dixon has a telling book on this called, “Just One Cumorah.” Apparently, the LDS leaders do not believe the Book of Mormon because it tells us exactly where Cumorah is.

The prefaces are not viewed as scripture but are regarded as true. The Ether 15 preface (before 1981) stated the obvious, “The hill Ramah or Cumorah.” Verse 11 confirms that this is where Mormon hid the records - or where Joseph found the Golden Plates. So Cumorah is at Palmyra, NY, in the land of Moroni near the Smith family home (14:11). The LDS Cumorah visitor’s center affirms, “Yes, this is the place.” That is why the LDS church holds an annual pageant of the battle there. (Mormon Doctrine, pp. 174-175; “A Marvelous Work and a Wonder,” p. 7; Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, pp. 232-243).

The Cumorah war in the New World would be far before the age of steel over here (see the Smithsonian statement to follow). Yet they had swords, shields, breastplates, and head-plates (15:15, 20-24). The standard Mormon excuse is to say that the soil has so much acid that it ate up the metal. The New York locals really laugh at this foolish yarn because the soil is fertile.

Wouldn’t you expect there to be a mountain of armor nearly as big as the hill itself? Then why doesn’t the LDS church use its wealth for excavation and lay aside the controversy? There cannot be “no evidence.” Call the Smithsonian or National Geographic and say, “Let’s dig!” Cumorah has a history of farming and even excavation with the LDS visitor’s center and a paved road near the top, so someone must know how many swords were found.

With no axe to grind, experts for these studies say there is no axe to find. Since eager Mormons claimed the Smithsonian used the Book of Mormon as a guide for archaeology, the Smithsonian grew irritated and prepared a statement exposing the folklore. The form letter is available on many sites such as:

While Mormon archaeologists are missing steel weapons, what happened to the steel mills or the mines of “mighty heaps of earth to get ore”? (Ether 10:20). It would be easier finding Nemo than one of the swords of Cumorah because arrowheads are all they have found. Animation or imagination, the Book of Mormon is simply an 1830 story that has fallen onto its own sword.

And how ridiculous is it that not one of those sadistic men of Cumorah had enough sense or love for the mothers and children to let them escape! None turned back while the hill was red, with blood flowing in every direction. Somehow, not one soul was wounded as they were all killed. Yet to find an enemy in the mounds of bodies would be practically impossible. The Indians of the Book of Mormon rode around wearing armor in their chariots, but apparently there were no horses at Cumorah? (Alma 18:9 & 12; 20:6; 3 Nephi 21:14). Not a very smart war!

The chapter heading for Ether 15 says, “Millions of Jaredites are slain in battle.” That’s an understatement! How amazing as the most evenly matched armies in history fought down to 52 from the army of Coriantumr and 69 of the army of Shiz (Ether 15:23). In comparison, if two packs of dogs fought, wouldn’t one logically prevail or does it get to one-to-one?

Millions and millions of warriors fell and it was finally one-to-one? Just coincidently, Coriantumr and Shiz were the army leaders, That’s like it just happened to be the president from the University of Utah and the president of BYU. (It sounds childish! Coriantumr went on to join the “Mulekites”? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulek ).

Considering more of the logical inconsistencies, did early Americans round up every colonist and Indian and fight to extinction? The pilgrims survived early America and our dear Native American tribes are all over the country.

Reading on, as one General faints, the other smites off his head. Then without a head, super-hero Shiz rises and struggles to breathe (15:29-31). Determination without a brain! So is it super-hero or super-fantasy? As the Mormon religion stakes its reputation on this tale, how can so many very intelligent people believe it?

Mormon productions play soft music, claiming the Book of Mormon is a “History of Ancient America.” If so, why don’t the universities teach it? BYU? Yes. You find more honest history from the National Enquirer. For example, where is ancient “Bountiful” or “Ephraim” except as being towns in Utah? You can swim the Sea of Galilee but never walk in one of the 38 cities of the Book of Mormon. Where are the maps?

American writings clearly mention the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico, the Rockies, Niagara Falls, the Appalachians, or the great rivers used to describe America. Why doesn’t the Book of Mormon? Its like a truckload of tangled fishing line as LDS scholars try to unravel the knots. Any atheist can see the historical accuracy of the Bible but it would be easier to find the ruins of the bottomless pit than reality from the Book of Mormon. It takes more than any LDS faith-promoting rumors to compare to the 25,000 archaeological sites of God’s Word, the Bible.

The Book of Mormon is the baited hook to lure thousands into a faith with many defenders but no defense. Amateur archaeologists overstate their claims on Yucatan or the Mayans as being trophies of truth. Those inscriptions are pagan: idol worship, cannibalism, human sacrifice, witchcraft and animism. Nothing of Jesus!

With a motto: “The glory of God is intelligence” (D&C 93:36), it makes you wonder. LDS missionaries grasping to defend their faith flee to stories from the 1800’s, “asking God (their god) if these things are so.” Pray to a false god about a false battle to the death in a false book and you will get a false answer. Credible faith is based on relevant information, not just the claim for truth or simply wanting it to be true. Faith in religious fiction is insulting to God.

To find information about Bible lands, just dig. Isn’t there a real Hebrew language? And if the Bible was reinterpreted into endless error, how come the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls read just as the Bible? “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Peter 1:25).

Is the Book of Mormon fact? In places it is, of course. Wherever Joseph Smith plagiarized the Bible, I bear witness that it is true. The Mormon church is based on fiction. At least when Mark Twain wrote about Tom Sawyer, he never claimed it was the word of God.

Picture two boys playing army at BYU. They pretend 230,000 warriors are on campus from 385 AD, calling them the Lamanites who defeat the Nephites, later to become the American Indians in the storyline (Mormon 6:9-15; 8:2-3).

Then young Joseph imagines another war and says, “Hyrum, nearly a thousand years earlier, millions of warriors and their families fought to their death here.” Little Hyrum says, “Let’s call it Cumorah.” Now logically, why would both wars be on that same insignificant spot of BYU? So really, that Palmyra hill? Did the Revolutionary War and Civil War overlook one great battlefield or was there all of America in which to fight? And wasn’t this near Joseph Smith’s childhood home? It’s pure make-believe and the LDS call it scripture.

Cumorah is just one example but there are lots of big problems in the Book of Mormon. Is it the most correct truth for the LDS faith? Yes, it is. The introduction explains, “Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said: ‘I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by it’s precepts, than any other book.”

Well, sure he said it was true! Self-affirmation is like claiming the Qur’an is the most correct book according to Mohammed, the Mass is real according to the Pope, the Watchtower to Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s like Harold Camping claiming to know prophecy, or Brigham Young boasting that his words are as good as scripture. To escape the obvious ramifications, some Mormons claim that an evil, demonic printer changed the original wording. Pretty lame! Why not say he changed the Cumorah story too?

The Cumorah of Joseph and Hyrum Smith was Carthage where they were jailed after ordering the destruction of a printing press exposing polygamy. Joseph was in conflict with the Masons for stealing their ceremonies, so when a mob attacked it was like an old west gunfight. Joseph killed two men and shot one (not a lamb or martyr) before they were killed. (History of the Church, vol. 6, pp. 432, 448; vol. 7, p. 103).

For God’s record on how to have eternal life, we all must have the truth. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13). To have Jesus Christ (not the LDS church, temples, commandments and ceremonies), is to gain God’s celestial heaven.

Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that were I am, there ye may be also.” With Jesus where? The Father’s house! What is the way there? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:2-6). LDS stuff is not the way.

I have been quietly spending a great deal of time lately on ‘unofficial’ Mormon websites, forums and blog sites, and communicating with so many Mormons, [under a pseudonym, obviously].

I didn’t do this to argue or debate. I wanted to listen, to feel the pulse of regular Mormon people.

What I have found is an astonishing discovery of something I have already suspected for some time.

The LDS Brethren have been trying to align themselves with general Christianity for the last decade or so. It was never clearer than when Mitt Romney ran for President.

It rose up to a crashing crescendo when Glenn Beck gathered up groups of Christian leaders and put on his “We are All One’ party at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall.

Mormonism can never align itself with Orthodox, biblically based Christianity for many reasons, yet the Mormon people want to be known as true Christians.

What these Mormons are saying on their forums, blogs and FB pages is that most of them generally pick and choose what they want to be the focus of their ‘religious’ experience in the Church.

They just junk the parts that make them feel uncomfortable. Sort of what American Catholics and ala-carte’ Christians have been doing for years?

Now, this is true across the general population within the LDS church. It isn’t a segment of the members; it is widespread among them.

On the part of the leadership, we see another anomaly. Rarely, if ever, are the deviant doctrines preached from the pulpits anymore.

The preaching is a feel good set of messages meant to make the members and their families happy to be there and smiling when they leave.

We talk to recent converts about some of these strange doctrines and they look at us like we are crazy. They haven’t been taught about their Mother in Heaven, or the black skin curse, or Jesus and Lucifer being brothers, as examples.

The LDS Church leadership has recently made great strides in cuddling up to the Christian body, but it isn’t where you would think, understanding the conservative DNA of Mormonism.

They are copying and using the same methods and techniques as the Seeker Friendly and Emergent Church groups and finding that they have strong compatibilities.

They also see that the leaders of these groups accept them at smiley face value and would never think to challenge them doctrinally. A Tinker Bell and Peter Pan relationship.

A Mormon could go to any one of such a church type and be openly welcomed, accepted as a Mormon ‘believer’ and be extremely comfortable… while never challenged spiritually. And leave church feeling really good.

Except for the weekly Wonder Bread and Water Sacrament, the Mormon can feel right at home…at any Seeker Friendly or Emergent church gathering.

The Errors of the Emergent Church

I know many Emergent sympathizers would object and say that I am generalizing. However, that simply is not the case. Even without much space to elaborate in this article, and even as difficult as "Emergent Speak" can be to decipher, once one boils it down, just a partial outline of Emergent philosophies indicates glaring flaws.

To Emergents, Christianity is:

* Experience over Reason

* Images over Words

* Spirituality over Doctrine

* Subjective Feelings over Absolute Truth

* Earthly Justice over Salvation

* Social Action over Eternity

Mormons are 100% in line with the first four characteristics and with a little tweaking, can accept the last two, as well. They also have their own Mormon-Speak vocabulary.

When then President Gordon B. Hinckley was interviewed by Larry King in 2004, he was asked what happens when a person dies.

Here he had the opportunity to speak as a true prophet and declare the judgment and the three degrees of Glory. Instead, God’s mouthpiece for the earth just didn’t know.

KING: What happens when you die?

HINCKLEY: When you die? Well, I'm not fully conversant with that. I haven't passed through that yet.

Sort of reminded me of a recent interview on the Piers Morgan Tonight program that replaced Larry King Live. I do like the more direct approach to issues that Piers has, compared to the King approach.

Piers was interviewing Joel Osteen, Pastor of one of the largest Seeker Friendly Churches in America. Piers worked hard to get him to reluctantly admit that homosexuality was a sin, according to the Bible, but could not get him to define what makes a person saved and going to heaven.

Pastor Osteen did not know or would not say who was going to heaven and how to get there. Millions of people were watching and the pastor of tens of thousands of Christian church members could not give the basic elements of Salvation, lest someone be offended. This is the kind of Christianity the Mormon leaders are becoming kissing cousins to, and it will get far worse as time goes on and no one speaks out about it.

One LDS Blogger wrote that the church was suffering from a case of spiritual schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder.

The Dictionary definitions of these two are,

First schizophrenia: Any of a group of psychotic disorders usually characterized by withdrawal from reality, illogical patterns of thinking, delusions, and hallucinations, and accompanied in varying degrees by other emotional, behavioral, or intellectual disturbances

And Second, multiple personality disorder: A situation, state of mind, in which widely conflicting opinions, ideas, or practices coexist, often resulting in indecision, vacillation, wavering, etc.

While one can smile and see the sad truth in what the blogger wrote, The Emergent and Seeker Friendly Churches suffer the same maladies and they are the Christianity the Mormons are now seeking fellowship with and getting results.

Watch and be warned. The LDS Church will soon become another branch of shattered Christianity.

Thank God I am Too Old to Care

Back up in the NW rain country for a few months. Sold our home in the Seattle area as it was sucking money out of our retirement savings and have moved into a great, bank owned condo we picked up at a fraction of its original price. One break in a horrible Real Estate market.

However, every day when I read the paper, I want to reach for a valium. Today, the article of interest was Washington State’s program of giving a driver’s license to anyone who could walk up to the counter and ask for one in any of the world’s many languages. No proof of citizenship or residency or literacy or even proof of birth.

Someone finally noticed that there were more licenses given out than we have citizens. There has been a travel program, a fly/drive through system that has allowed illegal aliens from everywhere to come into Washington for a few days, pick up a driver’s license and head to their desired state where the ID will help get them a job, an apartment, welfare, even a SS # and a bank account.

I personally watched a man who spoke no a word of English give the clerk an old, expired driver’s license from Guatemala and stand there until she handed him a valid Washington State license. No written or driving test, like the actual citizens sitting there waiting their turns to take the tests. She said, in an aside to several astonished citizens who questioned her actions, that she had to do it because she spoke no Spanish.

They really know how to fix things up here. The Seattle mayor, concerned that the lack of business sales taxes have hurt the City finances is fixing it by raising the city .parking rates to $4.00/hr.

Of course, that will just drive the buyers to the malls where parking is free on land the city does not own and the city center businesses who have already lost half their sales will continue to shut their doors. Pretty soon we will be paying $20.00 an hour to shop at the three stores left in the city.

The other day, the great thinkers announced that because they can’t manage the metro bus lines efficiently, we will be charged a new $40.00 fee when we renew our auto plates to pick up the slack.

The Citizens had voted in a measure that prohibits the State from adding taxes without voter approval, so they just add fees. In King County we now even have a special fee we must pay to get an official permit to bury our dead. Of course, with their usual efficiency, it could take weeks getting the needed permit. Bodies are backing up in funeral homes.

Another gang of thieves is adding another $30.00 fee to help their special deficits and now we are going to be paying around $5.00 per car to drive across the lake on a bridge we already paid for through tolls. This will send all the cars to the only other bridge or around the lake on already clogged roads. It should add an easy hour of commute time to and from the East side and down town Seattle. That is each way…

I begged my wife to let me go back to the Coachella valley and let me sit in the sun, watching the golfers go by. This economy is turning our politicians into crazy people who have an answer to every one of their failures. Take the money from the citizens while they still have a little left.

When we planned for our retirement, we made sure we had enough to last us until we die. We still do. We just have to die ten years sooner..

In Memorial

I don’t know.. Maybe it is just because I am getting older, but I am going to too many Memorial services lately. I just don’t like it.

Dr. Wendell Smith, our wonderful pastor for the last 16 years passed away recently after battling cancer for 6 years. Thousands of people from around the world showed up about a week ago to pay their respects and it was a mighty tribute to his life and legacy. I would have really preferred that they were all there to listen to one of his marvelous sermons. He was too young and will be greatly missed.

A few days ago, I went to the Memorial service of a dear friend of mine, John Parrott. John was a long time missionary in Mexico where he lived a poor peasant life, ministering to those around him. His skill as a mechanic kept many an old appliance, car, bus or truck running. He lived a servant’s life there as he shared the Lord along with his gifts of love, humor and grace.

John never tried to be the center of anything. He was always on the outside of the center, being a servant. When his mother became ill, John returned to this area and became not only a servant to her for the rest of her life, but also served Pastor Wendell as personal assistant, there to take on any assigned task with a joy in the doing.

John always had a hug and a kind word for anyone who crossed his path and his relationship with me was one of grace and gentleness, qualities I learned to blend into my own life through his example.

John was a serious diabetic and the disease ate away at him over the recent years, yet he never complained. He told another pastor that he could easily lay down on the sofa, close his eyes and slip into heaven if it were not that his mother needed him to care for her needs.

In late December, both John and his mother were in the hospital he was there because of her heart and John was there because the diabetes was starting to shut down his organs, as it had happened with my own sister, Judy.

On December 27th, during the mid-morning, John’s mother, Jean Peterson closed her eyes and went to heaven. Two hours later, in another part of the same hospital, John sighed deeply and slipped into heaven right behind his beloved mom.

A tenor sang the song, On Eagle’s Wings as we said goodbye to both Jean and John. The words here do not capture the joy in Christ we felt as we thought of them at home with Jesus.

And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,

bear you on the breath of dawn,

make you to shine like the sun,

and hold you in the palm of his hand.

Goodbye my dear brother. You made a difference in my life and the lives of all who knew you. Let it be said that you filled your life as a faithful servant of the Lord.

Christmas Greetings 2020

Dear Friends

It is Christmas time again and I want to wish you and your families the greatest Christmas ever!

There is no doubt that the Christmas season has been renamed the Holiday Season and Christ, for whom the season was named has been all but removed from the equation, replaced by secularism and its God-less worldview. Christmas tree lots are now selling holiday trees and cities now celebrate with holiday lights and festivities. The word, Christmas, is disappearing from public view.

I was asked this morning in an email if we Christians should even participate in Christmas, since it has become so non-Christian and I shout an absolutely loud YES!

It is such a great time to witness. In stores and shops where they are forbidden to wish us a Merry Christmas and mutter a watered down, Happy Holiday, we can smile and respond with “God Bless you ! Have a wonderful Christmas and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.” Or, at least respond with, “Merry Christmas.”

O Sing, choirs of angels,

Sing in exultation,

Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.

Give to our Father glory in the Highest;

O come, let us adore Him,

Christ the Lord.

My wife Carol and I, along with our family, thank you to those of you who have continued in your faithful commitment to the ministry of Saints Alive. This is often a tough ministry, reaching out to lost people, most of whom want to stay lost and in fact, think we are the lost ones. Because of your support and prayers, we have been able to stay in the battle for souls for 33 years this coming January. So many tens of thousands of people have found the real Jesus in those years.

At the end of each year, the last few weeks of December, I try to set time aside to pray and reflect on the ministry, its goals and direction. Liars, Liars, Pants on Fire

Yes, I have to admit that those ads for Chicken fingers at Carl’s Jr had my mouth watering and after a few weeks of looking at those succulent, huge chunks of Chicken fingers I gave in and hurried down to Carl’s Jr. and ordered up a batch of them for myself. Actually, my wife was with me and as ready as I was for this fantastic treat.

We eagerly sat down to feast on the golden delight and when we opened the containers, our eyes beheld the truth behind the advertising, The largest of all the strips was about the size of my thumb.

The Advertising folks at Carl’s Jr. should be locked away for a month and forced to eat nothing but the same chicken fingers they so cleverly lied about in their ads…

My advice.. Stay away from Carl’s Jr. Chicken strips.. They sure ain’t what the ad claims they are.. I doubt that the strips in the ads were even made by Carl’s Jr. Probably bought them at Popeye’s.

Some of the TV ads today are downright insults to our intelligence and yet companies pay big money for those deceitful claims, because they work. And we. Like fools, believe what isn’t so and hurry down and buy their chicken strips.

Oh, and if I see one more HP ad with the little baby in the walker speeding in and out of dangerous traffic I am going to end running in and out of traffic, screaming. That is, if I could actually run without tripping over my cane. Then, too, I don’t get much traffic on my street. Someone would have to drive me down to the freeway.

Halloween

When I was a kid, Halloween was a lot different than it is today.

In the little up-state New York farm country where I grew up, the houses weren’t close together and most had long driveways and that made going door to door more than most could handle. Anyway. If you did make it to a house, you mostly got an apple for your trouble. This modern kind of Halloween with little candies of every type and a zillion costumes for sale at the mall hadn’t been invented yet. In fact, neither had malls or WalMart or Target.

We had barn parties where we dunked for apples and dug through a pile of hay for nickels and a possible quarter or two. I remember pitching pennies into milk bottles. Lots of pumpkin pies and homemade ice cream. For costumes, we wore our school clothes, the same clothes we wore working in the barn. Lot’s of square dancing for the older folks while we kids just ran around and threw apples at each other.

After we moved to the city, things were never the same. Because I was a poor kid, I went door to door, “Trick or Treating” on Thanksgiving, too. That was great because a lot of them gave me turkey legs and pie.

As the years went on and I married, we loved Halloween and the enjoyed the little kids coming to the front door. I certainly scared a lot of little kids until someone suggested that I wear a Halloween mask or something to mellow things down. Of course, those were the days when I wore an afro.

Now as we live in a retirement development, things have really changed. The “trick or treaters” that come to my door now couldn’t do a trick if they practiced. Last year, we had problems with some of them getting their walkers tangled up at the door and driving their golf carts into the fountain.

We put together a neat bowl of treats. I like to do up the ever popular little baggies of Metamucil and a lot of them go right for the strips of scotch taped Tums. I love to take two lifesavers and hook them together in my own neat way to a rubber band and it is such fun watching them trying to figure that one out.

We have to help a few who forget why they are at our door. We get a lot who knock on the door because they need to use the bathroom and one lady came in and went to bed. We didn’t find her until we were getting ready that night.

I never know what to say about their costumes. It’s just that you just can’t tell. Sure, a lot of them who dress up in their pajamas. But then, I just saw a lady wearing her pajamas at Costco today.

Then there was the lady who would come to the door, get her treat , go out onto the street and forget she had just been here and come back again. We finally brought her in and sat her in front of the TV with a dish of ice cream.. Her son finally came and found her.

The nice part of Halloween in my neighborhood is first, it is a hoot and second, we are all done before darkness even thinks about coming our way.

I gave a very rare hour and a half interview last week to the folks at www.mormonexpression.com and was hosted by John Larsen. It was all about my life and Ministry.

There were lot's of “Mormon” questions/ rumors asked/answered. Especially rare since it was with the group, Mormon Expressions. They are a group of dedicated Mormons, liberal Mormons and former Mormons. Actually a pretty good group of people and a healthy mix, as far as I can see. John Larsen was most gracious.

On the Question: Are Mormons Christian

Rather, Don’t you think Mormons are Muslims? They both say that Jesus was not the end of the law, but pointed the way.. That there would be a ‘final’ prophet who would rise up and complete God’s work here on earth, each with new scripture and revelations..

Both are clearly non-Trinitarian. While Mormonism does teach three gods, they are non-biblical creatures, separate beings, twice born through acts of sex…except the Holy Ghost.. he was only born as a spirit being..

They both have to earn their ‘salvation.’ And both teach that when the leader has spoken, the think has been done. Just obey. Yes, they are certainly more Muslim than Christian.

Blind Man’s Bluff

The last day of last month was my dreaded “Renew your driver’s license or else” deadline. I was pretty nervous about it because my 75 year old body happens to be a very high mileage one with bald tires and the wires sticking out the sides and a worn out, faulty exhaust system. I figure it’s got over 175,000 miles of rough road on it.

After 70, if the clerk has any reason to suspect you might be a danger to others on the road, you can be forced to take the written and possibly the driving tests over again, so you can imagine that I was a bit edgy. I have a permanent disability card and I was concerned that it might automatically trigger a driving testing.

I couldn’t even chance driving to the DMV, let alone take the driving test. My wife drove me there and I left my walker in the car and used a cane. We went in and I took a number, sat down and began to nurse a latte’ my wife had brought in for me.

They called my number exactly at the same time I had one of my fun spasms and the coffee went straight up in the air and landed in front of me, splattering the floor. Thirty seconds of dead silence echoed throughout the place. I think it had something to do with the big sign on the door. “No Food or Drinks Allowed.”

One of the clerks working the two lines came around with a mop and began cleaning up. I apologized and asked if it was going to cost me any points on my license. She looked up and without a smile warned me not to get in her line.

Well, the short of it was that in spite of my obvious difficulties, I walked out of there with a new license and another 5 year reprieve, knowing that unless things change, I probably will not be using it any time soon.

The actual reason I chose that particular, remote office was that my father got his last driver’s license there when he was in his late 80s. It was kind of special. Dad was blind at the time. I told him it was crazy to think he, being blind, could get a driver’s license. Nevertheless, he was determined that he wanted one last license, even if he didn’t have a car or could see the dash board of one, if he had it.

He finally badgered me into driving his even older friend, Red and him there one day. He left his white cane home and used a regular cane. Red went first and with his deep voice, shouted out all the letters on line 6 perfectly and did an equally great job with the colors and the red dot.

As Red came back with a broad beam of a smile, holding his new license, I walked up to the clerk with dad, so he would actually get to the counter. When it came to signing his name on the card, he did a perfect job and when she had him stick his face in the machine, he repeated Red’s answers perfectly. She said, “oops you read line 6 instead of 4, but that’s ok.” She gave him the license anyway.

I pointed dad to the wall where he stood for his photo, with a wide happy grin. He may have been blind, but he was still in charge.

CHRISTIAN APOLOGETICS

I want to share about Christian "Apologetics" and embold you in your witness of the truth of the real gospel to those lost in spiritual darkness and even those mired in some of those spiritual gray areas.

As I launch forth, it is probably a good idea to let you know that this work of apologetics isn't always popular. Obviously, the cultist isn't going to be thrilled that you now know things he wishes you never did, and surprisingly, many fellow Christians will be frowning upon your new-found zeal to defend the faith once given.

In fact, you would be amazed at the number of well meaning Christians who find the defense of the faith just too embarrassing and negative for them to try out.

They say, "It's too unloving. God sees their hearts. Who are we to judge?" And they stand by and let a lie become the norm because they will not speak out with an apology or defense for the doctrines and purity of our faith. Let's take the time right up front and define the world of Christian apologetics and Polemics.

APOLOGETICS: from the Greek 'Apo' (for) and 'Logeo' (to speak): To speak for or To speak on behalf of. Webster: "Systematic argumentative discourse in defense (as of a doctrine). Defense of the faith."

POLEMICS: "An agressive attack on or refutation of the opinions or principles of another (as in denouncing heresy)."

The Bible tells us in Jude 3:

" Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. "

Paul tells us in Phil. 1:7:

"...It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me."

In 2 Tim. 2:15, Paul says:

" Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."

Further, he says:

"Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage --with great patience and careful instruction." (2 Tim. 4:2)

With these Biblical exhortations in mind, we see that it is our Christian duty to fulfill our commission from the Lord. We become defenders of the faith. as we witness to those lost in darkness and especially to those who bring those false teachings to the world we seek for Christ.

Defending The Faith in Isreal

In the Biblical account of Elijah's encounter with the prophets of Baal, we find that Baal worship had been introduced into Israel and Elijah stood before the people and cried out:

"How long halt you between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him."

He then challenged the prophets of Baal to call down fire from Baal upon the sacrifice that they had prepared. Although they called on Baal from morning to evening, leaping upon the altar and slashing themselves, nothing happened.

Elijah derided them, saying,

"Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awakened."

Then Elijah called down fire from God which consumed not only the sacrifice, but the altar stones and the water in the ditch around the altar.(1 Kings 18)

What Did Jesus Say?

Jesus, in Matthew 12:34, 39, spoke of the religious leaders of His day:

"O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things?...an evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign,"

In Matt. 13:15, He said:

"For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."

In Matt. 15:7 he called the scribes and Pharisees "hypocrites" and in verse 9,

"...in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

In chapter 21, He related the parable of wicked husbandmen against the religious leaders of Israel. In Matt. 23:23-25, 27-28, 33; He says:

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices --mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law --justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

..."Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.

In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

.."You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

So many are willing to hear the words of the Jesus of peace and faith, but are reticent to hear the Jesus who upbraided those teachers who would lead their followers into darkness.(blind leaders of the blind, Matt.15:14)

The Apostles Speak Out

Next we find the defenders of the faith, the " Apostles and Disciples of Jesus who boldly rebukes the false teachers of their day. The first of these apologists," Peter in Acts 2:14-41, 3:12-26, 4:8-12; and Stephen in Acts 6:8, 10; 7:1-60 spoke forcefully against the Jews.

In Acts 13:8-12, Paul condemned sorcery and spoke against the Jewish leaders in Acts 13:16-46; 14:1-4; 17:1-4 and reasoned with them out of the scriptures in their synagogues. Also in Acts 17:16-34, Paul contended with the Jews and then against paganism with the Greeks. Then to the Galatians he defended his Apostleship and the teaching of grace against the Judaizers.

The Early Church Fathers

The strong words of correction did not end with Christ and the Apostles. After they were gone from the scene, great men of God rose up to defend the church when it was considered illegal.

First they had to defend the faith against the Jews and afterwards against paganism and later heresies. The first of these were Quadratus (Bishop of Athens) and Aristedes (Philosopher of Athens) who wrote a defense of Christianity addressed to Emperor Hadrian c. 117 A.D.

Between 117 and 138 A.D., Hegesippus wrote about the heresies of Simeon, Cleobus, Gorthoeus, Masbotheus, Menander, Marcion, Carpocrates, Valentinus, Basilides and Saturnilius and also the Jewish heresies of the Essenes, Galileans, Hemereobaptists, Samaritans, Saducees and Pharisees.

Later Justin Martyr wrote his first apology to Emperor Antonius Pius c. 138 A.D. Tatian wrote against the Greeks c.163 A.D. Justin wrote his second apology to the Emperors, his dialog with Trypho (to the Jews) and his Hortatory address to the Greeks. At about this time, Athenagoras and Tatian wrote their apologies.

Melito of Sardis wrote a discourse to Emperor Antonius around 166 A.D. During the same period, Dionysius of Corinth and Philip of Gortyna wrote against Marcion, and Theophilus of Antioch wrote against Marcion and others. Apollinaris, Bishop of Hierapolis wrote five books against the Greeks, two books against the Jews and another against the Phrygian heresy and Montanus. Musanus Modestus (disciple of Justin) wrote an elegant work to some of the brethren who had swerved from the truth to the heresy of the Encratites and Tatianus.

Irenaeus, Tertillian and Origen

Between 170 and 220, Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons wrote 'On Knowledge' against the Greeks and 'Against Heresies' or 'Overthrow of False Doctrine' in which he outlines and refutes the doctines of the Gnostics, including Simon Magus, Cerinthus, Valentinus, Marcion and others.

Approximately 180, Rhoto, a disciple of Tatian, wrote against Marcion and other false teachers. Miltiades the Historian wrote against Montanus and the Paraphrygian heresy of Montanism. Apollonius of Rome wrote against the Phrygian heresy and Montanus. Serapion, Bishop of Antioch, wrote against the Phrygians.

Around 194, Tertullian wrote his apology and in 205, Clement of Alexandria refuted the Greek Heresiarchs. Between 205-250 Origen had discourse with Beryllus, winning him back from heresy to the truth. He wrote a reply against Celsus the Epicurian, called 'The True Doctrine,' and is also credited with debating the Arabians and later the Helcisaites, leading many of these back to orthodoxy. Between 250-256, Cyprian of Carthage wrote against Novatus and Cornelius of Rome wrote against Novatus and the heresies of the Cathari.

Apologetics In The Councils

During this same period, Dionysius, Bishop of Alexandria, wrote against the Novatians, the Sabellians and later against the schism of Nepos. At the Council of Antioch, a former Sophist refuted Paul of Samosata. In 314 the Council of Arles was held against the Donatists, and in 325, the Council of Nicea was held to deal with the Arian heresy.

These are just some of the Church Fathers up to Nicea that defended the Faith against the Jews, paganism, and heresies. Had it not been for their polemic and apologetic works, we would know little indeed of these great men from the first four centuries of Christianity, as this sort of defense of the faith makes up the greater part of their extant writings.

God Calls The Reformers

In addition to these, a host of great men from every age like Augustine, Martin Luther and others have spoken out against heresies, excesses and misuse of power inside and outside the church.

Not a few of them died martyr's deaths to defend the faith we take for granted!

Among the tenets they so vigorously defended were

the Deity of Christ,

the Trinity,

the sovereignty of God,

the inerrancy of scripture,

the depravity of man,

the certainty of final retribution,

and against Gnosticism, a terrible heresy which is again creeping into Christian doctrine.

Apologists In Our Time

In our own age, men like Charles Finney, and Dwight L. Moody who spoke out against Freemasonry in the church and immorality, have taken a strong stand for the faith.

Today, we stand therefore with those who have gone before us and say: " Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men."--2 Cor.5:11; ....to Flee the Wrath to come!

"Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." (2 Cor.6:17-18)

The Simplicity Of The Gospel

As we study the mighty manipulations of men in the things of God, we can only shake our heads and wonder what a mess some have made of the gospel. The Apostle Paul commented, "

"I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness; but you are already doing that.

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough." (2Cor. 11: 1- 4)

The key here is The Simplicity of the Gospel. The Bible is not obtuse. It gives the reader a clear, simple picture of the truth.

The aberrant religious groups cloud the clarity of the Word and bring chaos to the soul. Let's look at the simplicity of the gospel for a moment.

Believe God's Word when He says:

1. There is only one true God. (Deut. 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11; 1 Cor. 8:4)

2. God is a Spirit Who fills the heavens and the earth.(Jer. 23:24, John 4:24)

3. God is not a man.(Num. 23:19, Job 9:32, Hosea 11:9)

4. Jesus is Almighty God manifest in the flesh. (John 1:1-3, 14, 18; Col.1:15-17; 1 Tim. 3:16)

5. Jesus pre-existed in heaven. Man didn't. (John 8:23, 1 Cor.15:46-49, Gen.2:7, Zech.12:1)

6. We become children of God by adoption. (Rom. 8:14-16, Gal. 4:5-6, Eph. 1:5)

7. The gospel (good news) by which we are saved is that Jesus provided forgiveness of sins, resurrection and eternal life through His finished work.(1 Cor.15:1-4, Heb.1:3, John 19:30, Col.1:20-22)

8. We're saved by grace through faith unto good works as God's workmanship. (Eph.2:8-10)

9. He makes us new creatures as the Author and Finisher of our faith. (2 Cor.5:17-21, Heb.12:2)

So, what must one do to be saved?

1. Confess your sins to God and turn from them.(Rom.3:23, 1 John 1:8-9)

2. Confess with your mouth the the Lord Jesus and believe with your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Rom.10:9)

3. Ask Jesus to come into your life and make you what He wants you to be. (Phil.2:13, 3:9; Rom.12:1-3)

This is Old Ned and I approve This Message

OK! I admit that I scream more than a few times every night as I watch the TV political commercials. I admit it. I hate them all. What garbage!

I have reached the limits of my endurance and this old man will mark his ballots based on voting against every politician who is the most obnoxious, odious and negative ad campaigner in each elective position that effects me. Where are the poll results on TV ad anger?

I tell you it is time to dump them all out of office. It doesn’t seem to matter what party, what office, what district, what community is involved. There isn’t a single ad I have come across where a candidate looks you in the eye and in an adult fashion, states his/her actual qualifications for office or the positive platform they will bring to that office. It is always about that devious, thieving ‘other guy.’

We have one local mayor running away from his own failed campaign promises, leaving behind a disaster of a mess and an almost vacant business community who is now running for an even higher office, with a campaign program of blanketing us with ads denouncing the uncountable failures of his opponent.

Can you stand this barrage of tripe through the 2012 elections? I will probably go mad by then.

We need to clean our house before it ends up a pig-sty. Our State is turning into a third world country and we have politicians who think that instead of doing what we elected them to do.. run a fiscally sound State government, they can solve the problems they have created by taxing us even more.

We have political dynasties that go on for decades, building empires within empires and it just gets worse. They don’t just wallow in their power, they sneer at us with impunity.

It is time to tell political candidates for any office, including Congress and the Senate, that they can stay for 2 terms only. That their medical/dental/retirement plans must be the same ones they force upon us. That they can take commercial planes home for the weekends and vacation trips to Spain instead of Government jets. That they have to operate their office and staff at within a budget the people set, not their illusions of grandeur.

They need to be stopped from adding in special interest riders to bills that have absolutely no relationship to their private goodies grab. Billions of dollars are wasted in these special deals. The President must have a line veto power.

And speaking of presidents, no president should have the authority to by-pass the people by establishing an army of special Czars who control whole areas of our nation’s assets. That is a very small step from living in a dictatorship without a vote in the matter.

Their politics have turned our educational system into one of the worst in the world. We have to import doctors, nurses, dentists, Educators, scientists because we don’t have the ability to produce our own. Our own college graduates are working as clerks in Macy’s.

Not a problem for the politicians. Their kids are in exclusive private schools and have high paying pork fat jobs waiting for them when they ‘graduate.’ I would imagine that few Politician’s have kids on unemployment.

Don’t even get me started on Federal Judges, who, instead of making decisions based on laws that we citizens set in place, defy these laws and make decisions based on their own political agenda.. and we do nothing.. just suck it up.. We gotta dump these fools!

Somewhere, back in my youth, I had the idea that the American people controlled its government. Today the government controls its people.

We better wake up before it is too late.. and folks, November may already be too late.

Triumphant Islam and the gods of the 7th century come to NYC's Ground Zero

There seems to be a national movement to accept the god, Allah, as the same God the Christian and Jew worship, the God of the Bible. It is clear that to say otherwise has become politically incorrect.

Let me share just a little bit about the god of Islam

The gods of the Seventh Century

The culture of Mohammed’s world was very animistic. Every Arab tribe had its sacred magic stone(s)
that they believed protected the tribe, resident in the Kaaba. Mohammed’s particular tribe had adopted a
black stone and had set it in the Kaaba. This magical black stone was kissed when people came on their
pilgrimages and worshipped at the Kaaba. It was probably an asteroid or a meteorite, a moonstone, which
they viewed as being divine. All the nomadic tribes had their own tribal deities.

The dominant religion just prior to Mohammed was Sabianism, a religion in which heavenly bodies were
worshipped. The moon was viewed as a male deity, and they used a lunar calendar. Their pagan rite of fasting began with the appearance of the crescent moon. Fasting was later adopted as one of the five pillars of faith of Islam. Fasting, based on the lunar calendar, in the ninth month of Ramadan already pre-existed in the Arab culture before Mohammed was even born.

What about the name “Allah?” Muslims claim that Allah is the same God as Christians worship, just under
another name. Yet, if you look at the history of it, it is very different. The term “Allah” is a purely Arabic term used in reference to an Arabian deity. The tribe into which Mohammed was born was particularly devoted to their Allah, which was the moon god. It was represented by the black stone they believed had come down from heaven.

In Arabia, the sun god was viewed as female and the moon was viewed as the male god. In pre-Islamic

times, Allah, the moon god, was married to the sun god, and together they produced three goddesses called TheDaughters of Allah.

They were viewed as being at the top of the pantheon of Arabian deities, those three hundred and sixty idols in the Kaaba, at Mecca.

Do not ever accept Allah as just another name of the true and living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This Arabian deity was the god of the Ishmaelites. Ishmael was not the son of the covenant. Isaac was the son of the covenant.

The symbol of the worship of the moon god, Allah, in pre-Islamic Arab culture, throughout the Middle East,
was the crescent moon.

Today, the crescent moon is on every flag of an Islamic nation. Go to any mosque. What
is on top of it? A crescent moon, the symbol of Allah, the moon god. Every Muslim nation that has a flag has a crescent moon on the flag.

Do not be deceived. Today there is a great movement by the Islamites to erect a Mosque at Ground Zero, where Muslim terrorists killed so many people and brought America to its knees, froze air travel and has since put us in a defensive mode never before seen on this soil.

The permits have been granted while we still argue over an American memorial tribute to the dead.

Make no mistake about this. Throughout history, the Muslims have built their victory mosques in the dead center of ever y population they have conquered. This is a memorial site for the great Muslim heroes and martyrs who destroyed this place and killed so many innocents.

A recent, huge protest march of thousands of people who decried this outrage never made the evening news.. Yet, a handful of 4 or 5 Muslims with peace signs were the real news of the day. We have lost the Press and we are losing America.

Is it any wonder that the American Flag is gone from behind the president during most of his White House briefings and replaced by Muslim drapes? Wake up you who sleep.

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thess 5:5-6

To Heck with Dell

I had to call tech support this week regarding my Dell laptop that has been acting strange. Some lady came on the line and told me I had to press One to speak to someone in English. I quickly checked my phone number to be sure I was calling from America, but finally pressed One because my Spanish and Pakistani skills are less than adequate. I had to fight the urge to press 8.

After 25 minutes of going through a series of recorded directions and options, I finally reached a live person, a lady who obviously did not press One for English. After 10 more minutes of a catastrophic language barrier disaster, she finally put someone else on the line whose minimum level of English could almost be understood through her heavy accent.

Before I explained my problem, she advised me that my call was being recorded for quality assurance purposes.

I advised her that I had been recording the call from the moment I first spoke to the lady who spoke no English and would continue to record the call with her for my own quality assurance purposes.

She told me that I was not authorized to record the call. I asked her who authorized her to record my call, since I certainly did not authorize it. She raised her voice to a new level of authority and demanded that I stop recording the call.

I asked to speak to her supervisor, She responded that she WAS the supervisor and the call would be immediately terminated unless I stopped recording it.

I paused for a moment, trying to decide if I wanted to fight to the death with this woman or get the problem resolved. I figured getting the thing fixed was a higher priority than driving this lady nuts. “OK,” I sighed, “I stopped recording the call. Now Can we get to the problem?”

After taking all my basic information, she then asked for my Password.

“What password,” I asked?

“Your Technical support Password,” she said.

“I don’t have one, never had one, don’t want one,” I snarled. “I just want to you to help me with a simple technical problem, now, today, here, while I am on the phone, not recording you.”

She was now in full control. “Sir, I cannot help you unless you have a technical support password.”

“Will you please give me one,” I begged, feeling a sob working its way up my throat.

“I am not authorized, sir. You have to go on-line to our website and get it there. Thank you for choosing Dell Computer for all your friendly computer needs” Dial Tone!

I took a short break, banged my head on the Dell laptop several times and then logged on to the Dell website. Well, I tried to log on. It seems I needed a Password to log in, [that I did not have] so that I could get a technical support password for use with that group and another password to pay my bill on line and another to register a complaint.

I turned off the computer and went in to watch Bill O’Reilly. Surely, that would calm me down.

Tomorrow I will drive to Costco and buy a non-Dell laptop.

What I really find frustrating, is that I have to dial One to talk in fractured English to someone in Pakistan about a product I bought in Palm Desert, California, USA that was manufactured in China.

The Rule of Law is Dead in America

It is a tragedy when a State is legally attacked by the Federal government when it tries to deal with Federal laws the Feds refuse to enforce. It is also an attack on the foundation of our legal system, the Rule of Law.

I found the best definition of Rule of Law at Wikipedia.com. Let me share that insight:

Where the law is subject to some other authority and has none of its own, the collapse of the state, in my view, is not far off; but if law is the master of the government and the government is its slave, then the situation is full of promise and men enjoy all the blessings that the gods shower on a state.

Likewise, Aristotle endorsed the rule of law, writing that "law should govern", and those in power should be "servants of the laws." The ancient concept of rule of law is to be distinguished from rule by law, according to political science professor Li Shuguang:

"The difference....is that under the rule of law the law is preeminent and can serve as a check against the abuse of power. Under rule by law, the law can serve as a mere tool for a government that suppresses in a legalistic fashion."

Now, let me simply state why the Rule of Law is dead in America.

When the Federal Government sued the State of Arizona to stop them from enacting a law, citing Federal immigration laws, that made it illegal [forbidden by law or statute] to be an illegal alien in that state, and filed that lawsuit in a federally funded and controlled court, in front of a federally appointed judge, the rule of law died.

The Pandora’s box of Government suppression by legal manipulation has spilled forth and now opens up an era of rampant abuse of power by the power brokers of this and any like minded administration.

The State of Arizona and every state that borders Mexico will live with this as will the legal, taxpaying citizens of America as the borders continue to overflow and the health, education, welfare and penal systems of this country go even deeper into bankruptcy.

I guess I should apologize for my racial profiling of people illegally entering the country from Mexico, but I see few Chinese or Canadians illegally crossing into Arizona from the south.

And yes, before I get a hundred angry emails, we do need worker Visas and a better, working immigration policy, but the folks in Washington won’t do the job. What on earth are the States that are being over-run to do?

July 2010 Update Report Saints Alive/Glenn Beck Update

Update Report July 2010

Dear Friends,

It has been a while since my last Update but I have been quite busy in both my ministry and personal life. We recently sold our home and moved to a much smaller Condo. Just unloading years of accumulated ‘things’ took forever. Then came the packing up of everything that was left.

We are actually renting right now while we find the Condo we want to spend the next hundred years in. Then another move. Thank goodness most of it is in boxes in the garage. Just moving all my ministry files was a major undertaking.

We are still dealing with some issues with our new website. Still working on getting pdf files and WORD files moved to it more easily and our video files keep disappearing, but we will get there. Email me personally if you are having any difficulty with the site.

Also, we had agreed to use Google Ads to bring in some desperately needed revenue, using the tags from the site as triggers for the ads. However, even daily policing and zapping of the ‘offensive’ ads did not prevent LDS and Masonic ads from appearing. I finally threw in the towel and we no longer run Google ads.

What is the problem with Glenn Beck??

I have almost [not quite] reached the point of pulling out what remaining hair I have left over this issue. Glenn Beck made what would seem to be a solid Christian confession of faith/ salvation on his TV program and many emails came my way praising his stand for Christ.

Apparently, his confession was openly received by some key Christian leaders, like Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and more recently by James Robison who, while on Beck’s program, stated that while they had a few minor ‘issues’, they were on the same team.

I wanted to shout, “What team are you on, James?”

However wonderful were the words that Glenn Beck spoke, there is a major problem. If Beck were truly “saved” he would have to renounce the false doctrines of demons that rule the LDS church and its people.

One of the problems we face in understanding what Glenn said and what his words meant is that in Mormonspeak the words mean entirely different things to the Mormon and the biblical Christian. Let me list just 3 here for you.

To the Mormon, God is an exalted man from another planet who is now the god of this world only and has a god above him who has a god above him who has…but understand that to the Christian, God is the creator of all, the heavens and the universes. He said there were no gods before Him, beside Him or after Him. I think He should know.

Same word, totally different meanings.

To the Christian, Jesus is the Word made Flesh, the savior from before time began, conceived by the Holy Ghost.

To the Mormon, Jesus was born as a spirit being on a planet near the great star, Kolob, in an act of sex between their god and one of his many, polygamous goddesses. He was selected at a council of gods to be the ‘savior’ of this world. He was chosen over his brother, Lucifer. The LDS god came down and had sex with his spirit daughter, Mary and begat him in the flesh.

Same word, totally different meanings.

To the Christian, Salvation is a result of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross on Calvary, where He paid the penalty for our sins ‘once and for all.’ All we must do to receive it and eternal life is to accept it.

To the Mormon, Salvation is two-fold, the first is only the General salvation, and it is the gift of physical resurrection for ALL mankind, given through Christ’s death at Calvary.

The second is Personal salvation that comes in part, through Christ’s suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, were LDS prophets say he sweat great drops of blood for our

Sins, conditional on our obedience to all the laws and ordinances of the [LDS] gospel.

Same word, totally different meanings.

Beck’s Church claims that they have the only authority to act in the name of God on earth, all other churches are abominations in God’s eyes, all those who profess the doctrines of orthodox Christianity are corrupt, all their pastors are hirelings of Satan.

I learned that personally, as a Mormon, in the most scared place of all Mormondom, the LDS Temple ritual. Is this the same team you are on, James Robison?

Glenn Beck can tear up and rub his eyes all he wants, but if he is really ‘saved’ he needs to drop the double-talk and leave the LDS church. If he won’t declare himself, he is a cultist, playing mind-games that foolish people take for truth. At least take off the magic Mormon underwear, Beck!

I personally think it is all a plan to Christianize Mormonism for the masses so that Mitt Romney will have a shot at getting the evangelical vote he lost last election. Fools like James Robison and Richard Land are playing the devil’s fiddle.

Well, I guess I can cool down a bit. This was an email conversation I had a few weeks ago after I did a Facebook post on the subject: Glenn Beck: Christian or not?

I received this email: The writer copied me on a response he sent to a friend regarding the Beck is Christian program.

You asked what I thought about Glenn Beck's July 13, 2010 Gospel presentation on his Fox News program. Below is a paragraph I lifted from Beck's presentation. Beck is correct. I do not consider Mormon's to be a Christian denomination. The Mormon Church has been trying to be recognized as a Christian denomination for years and Glenn Beck is exactly what the Mormon Church has been looking for to validate their claim. The Jesus of the Mormon Church is not the same Jesus that you and I worship. Only after Beck announces that he is leaving the Mormon Church will I believe he is a Christian in a Biblical sense. The Devil comes in many disguise. I have a copy of the Book of Mormon if you would like to read it.

"Now, I know people will say, Oh, Glenn Beck is a Mormon! He's not even a real Christian.

Beck: OK, fine. You can believe what you want. I am a man that needed atonement more than most people. Ed: My Response...

You are so right.. I have been getting emails of Beck being a real Christian all morning… His use of the word, “Atonement” is a small clue that Beck is a real Mormon, albeit, not a theological giant. Salvation in Mormonism is totally different than that of biblical Christianity.

Problem here is this: to take Beck at his word here,

Beck = Christian,

Beck = Mormon,

Mormon = Christian

Romney - Christian

The non-aware Christian, those who love Beck’s strong conservative viewpoints, will make that connection and the Mormons win a victory

Beck also said that “Another perversion is the concept of collective salvation”

Yet, Core LDS doctrine of salvation teaches that there are two salvations, the first is the result of Christ’s death on the cross, one that provides the “general Salvation.” This is resurrection from the dead for all mankind.

Their “personal salvation” comes from their works that will be judged at the judgment table where their works and their ‘transgressions’ are weighed and the result is the determination of to which of the three kingdoms they go.

I pray that his statements will cause enough conflict with his Mormon leaders that he will be ‘corrected’ enough that his brain will get in low gear and he will leave the church for the real Jesus. The real salvation.

I have read your comments about Mormon baptisms for the dead. It seems as though you are suggesting that certain people should be deemed unworthy of any future salvation. Is this the case? And if so, who are you to judge?

Ed: I base my comments on what the bible says are the conditions of salvation.. and I see no scripture that implies there is some second chance salvation after death.. nor are my comments on this strange subject some form of ‘judging’ anyone..

Okay, I understand. It just seemed like you were taking issue with certain people more than the practice itself. For all we know, those people repented before they died, and accepted the Lord. We just do not know.

Ed: You are correct in that

If there is no second chance for salvation after death, what happens to those "heathens" that were born never having heard of Jesus? You know, like the Chinese?

Ed: A bit beyond my pay scale.. I figure that a God who created the worlds can figure that out himself. His son told us to go to the ends of the earth to proclaim His salvation.. I am still working on that one. I’ll wait til I am done there before I get too concerned about the ones I missed..

Things In The Mirror

I was reminded this morning of the little notice etched into the side view mirror of my car. It states “Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.”

I was standing in front of the mirror in my bathroom after I had showered. Try not to dwell on the imagery. It will hurt you. I thought, “Objects in the mirror are much larger than they appear.” …This object appeared quite large to begin with, even before the shower. …I stared down at the floor and my eyes settled on the scale thereon.

Did I want this object to step on that scale and find out just how much larger it was this morning, or did I want to go on with life as usual, with a kind of ignorance may not be bliss, but it does work kind of a day.

I looked back in the mirror. I sucked in my gut, flexed my remaining muscles, lifted my chin high to remove the three that had grown under the original chin and held my breath. Still much larger and now in pain. I exhaled, threw my towel over the scale and began my day.

One needs to understand that this body has been fighting gravity and the effects of an obsession with comfort foods for over 27,000 whole days… Not an easy task for anyone… and lately I don’t need anyone to tell me that I have been losing the fight for some time. There are some things you just have to live with when you get to be over 27,000 days old.

That’ why I love living in a seniors-only development. I am around guys just like me. We don’t compare abs anymore. If we compare anything, its who has more hair growing out of his ears.

Most of the fellows my size who have been working out at the fitness center for the past 5 years still look the same. I just walk through the area rapidly and save a whole lot of energy that I can put to use elsewhere, like in the hot-tub, pool or the chaise lounge chairs.

I feel good by comparison in many ways. My walker has bigger wheels than a lot of guys’. I have yet to fall out of my golf cart. I am still quite young by some standards.. My neighbor John fell asleep on his way to the mailbox a few days ago. That hasn’t happened to me yet.

My other neighbor, Len, came over the other day and told me he was so thrilled with his new hearing aid. I asked him what kind was it. He said, “It’s a quarter to three. I’d better get going or I’ll miss the early bird special at Mario’s.”

I’m not quite that bad yet, but I did run in and tell my wife that there was an early bird special at Mario’s and we’d better get moving.”

I had a bit of a driving problem on a recent trip to Laguna Beach, California, that resulted in a $100 traffic ticket. This is the letter I wrote to them explaining the situation. I thought you might enjoy it.

Dear Sirs:

I am an elderly, disabled visitor to your area. I was on your toll road, my first toll road experience in many years.

I had just paid the full toll a few miles before this and I and was driving to Laguna Beach. The GPS my kids gave me for the trip told me to exit and even though the map said I should stay on the toll road, I did exit, for fear that I was wrong. As soon as I left the Toll road, the GPS told me to go back on the toll road in the opposite direction and I knew that was wrong

I entered the ramp to get back on the toll road going south to Laguna and when I got to the booth, no one was there and it asked for a Dollar in coins. I was digging all over trying to find some and a car pulled right up against my bumper and began laying on the horn, constantly beeping it and yelling at me.

I became scared and threw a dollar bill in the hopper and drove through. The other car came through and sat along side me and waved his arms and cursed at me and I hit the brake so he would get ahead of me. We were very frightened. My wife was crying and we made it finally to Laguna where our children were waiting for us.

My wife doesn’t allow me to drive on the freeway any more for fear that we may get shot.

Please don’t fine me.. I did put a dollar bill in the thing and would have found the coins if the car behind us wasn’t scaring us so bad.

Thank you. I promise never to drive on a toll road again.. Well, my wife won’t let me anyway.

Mexico’s President, Felipe Calderon, used his speech in front of a joint session of Congress to slam Arizona’s immigration law. On the floor of our national legislature, a foreign dignitary criticized our laws. Democrats gave him a standing ovation and President Obama stood idly by. What a disgrace!

One must wonder what the immigration laws of Me3xico are, that he would be so outraged that Arizona Law enforcement officers would ask someone for ID when stopping them during in the act of breaking a law.

Let’s see. If I am stopped for speeding in Arizona, the officer will ask me for my driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance, which by law, I must show him. He tickets me and we both drive away.

Now, the same officer pulls over a Latino speeder and if he asks for the same ID, that is racial profiling and a violation of the speeder’s human rights..

What a country! God Bless America.

Cult Think

I sponsor a group on Facebook called Christian Apologetics. A lot of things are discussed there, but Mormonism takes a front row seat.

Recently several Mormons have been responding to articles I post and literally all but bury the site in laborious, cookie cutter LDS responses.. I am sure they mean well, but it gets to be a frustration dealing with them.

I write an article; they respond with an often lengthy, Mormon exhortation. Usually they say that I don’t understand Mormonism, I lie, I misrepresent their doctrines or actions and go on to give a candy coated look at the only true church, knowing that many people are reading what they say.

I respond to their post, giving them answers and facts to support my original premise and they respond back, ignoring my evidence, brushing me off as an angry ex-Mormon who couldn’t live the gospel and other responders as naive Christians who never understood Mormonism and then the Mormons go off on another tangent.

On one topic recently, I finally just deleted the entire topic, just to cut off their supple line for prattle. It was going nowhere.

I have been thinking about this phenomenon for the last day or so and recalled a teaching I did over 20 years ago. I wish I still had the notes. If I do, they are buried in the many notes I kept over the years, a significant sum that I hope to someday sort through. Sort of like the closet full of boxes filled with photos we will probably never sort through, either.

The frustration comes from trying to deal with what I call Cult Think.

Cult Think is the way cult members process data.

Data from the cult itself, in the form of sermons, teachings, books, manuals, rules, regulations, tests of worthiness go straight in.. direct access.

It is not weighed and measured. For example, Mormons have been taught that when the leaders speak, the thinking is done. To question or study a thing out with outside resources is to invite apostasy and the loss of one’s testimony.

Often a Biblical scripture taken outside of context is to accepted as evidence of some truth the cult’s leader may be expounding on, even though the Biblical context is opposite its use. Many of my website articles are filled with such examples.

The Mormon leaders say that God is an exalted man and that worthy Mormons can attain their own godhood. The faithful Mormon accepts that as eternal truth, even though the Bible refutes that in a several dozen clear scriptures. There is no study or searching out the scriptures. You have to wonder that the Mormon accepts this premise blindly; even the Book of Mormon denies that doctrine.

Now, on the other hand , any data from a former member or a concerned Christian; a caring family member or neighbor is received as an attack on the faith and is filtered through a thick wall of defense.

The Mormon or other cult member believes in their heart that the giver of the data left the cult/church to live a life in sin, couldn’t live up to the laws and ordinances of the cult gospel; is making money saying these evil things, hates the cult/ Mormons, is lying about it, manipulating scripture to cause them to lose their testimony.

The result is that just a fraction of the data penetrates the wall. When enough is said or read to actually break through the wall, the Mormon or other cult member immediately goes to bearing one’s testimony of the truthfulness of the cult or its leader or prophet or doctrine.

When this hypnotic/trance like testimony is over, the wall is back up and in place, the data giver is back to square one.

Once I was asked by a pastor to be at his side when he met with a Mormon couple and their bishop, to discuss why he allowed their LDS daughter to go forward at an altar call in his church. They were furious. When the bishop saw that I was sitting with the pastor, they put the meeting on hold until two men with higher ranking than bishop could attend.

When one of the new arrivals was stunned that he did not have answer to a question that I had asked, he immediately went into testimony mode.

As he got to the “… and I believe the Book of Mormon is the Word of God…”, I noticed from across the small desk that his eyes had fully dilated. He was in a hypnotic state!

I loudly smacked my hands together right in front of his face and loudly proclaimed, “The Book of Mormon cannot be true..”

He sat there in a silent daze and did not open his mouth again for the rest of the meeting.. He was literally bewildered.

My point is: Realize that you are dealing with Cult Think when you witness. Watch for it, work around it and keep poking those holes. Those walls do come down through prayer, love and persistence.

A Note From Ed

Well, I am back up and running again. A trip to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona was the solution. After three Doctors and nine tests/lab workups, it was just more heavy meds that masked my symptoms and turned my mind to jelly.

Carol let that go on just so long and then she was on the phone with Mayo. They had resolved similar issues several years ago and she knew they would get the job done again. The Doctors at the Mayo Clinic, working as a team, had me on the road to recovery within 24 hours and while I am slowly getting back to the old me, I was able to drop all the meds that had me looking like a stoner on holiday.

It amazes me that people go to all kinds of lengths to get those drugs, even stealing and robbery.

We are still working out a number of problems with the new website, but I believe that we are through the major issues and will have it running in inter-active mode in the near future.

For those of you who have emailed me the last few months and received no reply, hang in there. I am so backlogged and I can still only handle the computer for a few hours at a time. I will get to all messages over the next few weeks.

Western Wall Not in Israel

Says UK Advertising Standards Authority

The UK's Advertising Standards Authority said implying that the Western Wall is in Israel is misleading. HonestReporting goes on-site to investigate...

I was appalled after recently reading this 2008 statement by Elder Marlin K. Jensen, a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: "The church's view of someone in undocumented status is akin, in a way, to a civil trespass." Jensen related it "to coming onto someone's property uninvited" and said, "There is nothing inherent or wrong about that status."

Really? If I had an outstanding warrant for a trespassing ticket that I hadn't paid, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't qualify for an LDS temple recommend until it was taken care of. I also see a giant difference between crossing a fence posted "No trespassing" and sneaking into a country, buying stolen Social Security numbers and not paying taxes.

In a meeting of LDS Church stake presidents in May 2006, church authorities instructed local leaders that the church was no longer going to acknowledge the country borders that man has set, and that no church leader should deny an undocumented individual church privileges based solely on that illegal activity. I'm sad and confused by the LDS Church's quiet stance on this serious issue. I pray our church leaders will support our U.S. government.

Army Disinvites Graham to Pentagon Prayer Day

Evangelist Franklin Graham's invitation to speak at a Pentagon prayer service has been rescinded because his comments about Islam were inappropriate, the Army said Thursday.

Graham, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, in 2001 described Islam as evil. More recently, he has said he finds Islam offensive and wants Muslims to know that Jesus Christ died for their sins.

Army spokesman Col. Tom Collins said Graham's remarks were "not appropriate."

"We're an all-inclusive military," Collins said. "We honor all faiths. ... Our message to our service and civilian work force is about the need for diversity and appreciation of all faiths."

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation had raised the objection to Graham's appearance, citing his past remarks about Islam.

Collins said earlier this week that the invitation to attend the National Day of Prayer event at the Pentagon wasn't from the military but from the Colorado-based National Day of Prayer Task Force, which works with the Pentagon chaplain's office on the prayer event.

As co-honorary chair of the task force, Graham was expected to be the lead speaker at the May 6 Pentagon service. Country singer Ricky Skaggs was expected to perform.

Since Graham's invitation was rescinded, the task force has decided not to participate in the military prayer service, Collins said.

On Fox News last night as Glenn Beck, Charles Krauthammer, A.B. Stoddard, and Bill Kristol condemned Dutch activist Geert Wilders as a “demagogue” and a “fascist.”

Mr. Wilders, the leader of the Party for Freedom in The Netherlands, produced a controversial documentary on Islam in Holland called “Fitna.” In the short film, Mr. Wilders argued that “there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam’” and that the Prophet Muhammad would “. . .in these days be hunted down as a terrorist.”

In the past, the former member of the Dutch National Parliament was a frequent guest on Fox News. Last February, Bill O’Reilly welcomed Mr. Wilders to America, while condemning a scared Britain for banning him entrance to the country.

While Mr. Beck labeled Mr. Wilders as a “fascist,” Mr. Krauthammer said that the popular Dutch politician, who is a leading candidate for Prime Minister, doesn’t know the difference between Islam and Islamism.

Ms. Stoddard expressed her agreement with Krauthammer and added that “if people like this (Mr. Wilders)) are elected to lead Holland it will suffer the consequences.

The well-orchestrated attacks on Mr. Wilders came in the wake of news that Rupert Murdoch, the CEO and principal stockholder of News Corps, the parent company of Fox News, will make Abu Dhabi, the headquarters of his global media operations in the Middle East.

Mr. Murdock has established strong links with the Arab Muslims, last month agreeing to invest 70 million dollars in the Rotana Group, an enterprise is controlled by Saudi tycoon Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Prince Talal, in turn, now owns 7% of News Corps. He is #22 on the Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people.

The change in Fox News and its stance on Islam has been noted by Walid Shoebat, a former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization, who converted to Christianity.

Mr. Shoebat says that Fox New now prohibits critics of Islam and Islamic terror from appearing on its broadcasts.

He contends that the prohibition stems from the fact that Prince Talal is now the second-largest shareholder in News Corporation, the parent company of the Fox News Channel.

A number of years ago. I was asked by a local pastor to met with him and a troubled family. The daughter was in high school and dating a good looking Mormon boy. Her baptism in the church was the following Saturday.

I met with him, the girl and her parents for over two hours. The girl was a bit over-weight and not very attractive. It was easy to see why she was drawn to both the boy and the Church he was bringing her into.

She had been raised in the family’s church and had been an active part of the youth program until the Mormon Conversion by dating plan had struck her down.

In the end, no matter her parents’ and pastor’s pleading and my logical reasons for why a young Christian girl should not become a Mormon, she said that she was going to be baptized no matter what any of us said.

Her next words have stayed with me for almost 25 years. She said, “Look at me. No one has ever paid me attention in school. No one else has ever dated me, shown me love and caring like he has. He is beautiful in every way. I don’t care if I follow him to hell when I die, I am going with him.”

I recently received an email from a family that brought this all back to mind. Attached was a series of emails dealing with the blatant theft of their daughter by a young man about to eave for his mission.

Not only did their daughter join the church and be baptized without their knowledge, she hid away the truth about his Mormonism and when he left for his mission, he and his parents convinced her to move out of her parents’ home and live with them, basically holding her spiritually hostage awaiting the son’s return and a supposed temple wedding.

I grieve over this. It’s a story I have heard a thousand times over. I told her dad this:

Regarding your note and the attachment, I have read through the many emails and the battle you have fought over Amanda and have to say, my heart is broken with yours. I have been dealing with this child stealing for over 30 years and the stories are almost the same in every case. Sometimes it is also a young man, infatuated with some LDS girl and the attention and love bombing..

The Mormons call it conversion by dating and actually encourage their young people to seek out non-members to date. Even young kids in Primary are used by eager parents to invite neighborhood and school friends to events and parties, to lure their families into a mood for missionary visits.

In many cases, within months of conversion, especially in high school, the Mormon moves on to the next ‘dating’ conversion and the new LDS teenager is on her own.

The vilest part of this child stealing is when they secretly baptize the child, and if the parents complain, offer their home as sanctuary away from such ‘unloving’ parents.

The arrogance of their position is the clearest evidence of their ungodliness. ….

Again, I grieve with you.

I have noted that in many cases like this, the stolen child usually leaves the LDS church within a year’s time and the parents need to be alert to that possibility. The odds are much less if she is tied to “missionary’ love and lives with his family..

The average Mormon kid, trained up to be confident and outgoing is usually any parent’s dream. Those who have followed the church teachings and are true believers are like wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are usually well-mannered, clean cut, charming and very respectful to the date’s family.

The canine teeth are tucked way back and before you can shout, “Wait!” Your kid is stolen right out from under your watchful eyes.

Christian parents and youth pastors need to build a wall of protection from these ravening wolves that prey upon your children. Most good Christian kids are not street smart and easy prey. They have to be immunized against attack. To fail to do so is asking for trouble, especially in high school.

Communicate and prepare them for these kinds of dangers. We do it regarding pedophiles who lurk around the vulnerable. Your children are equally vulnerable when it comes to the cults who prey on them with as much aggression as the pedophiles in the bushes.

Ed, I was in one of those "Missionary Relationships" for 18 years. I was raised in the Christian faith and had a close relationship with the lord. But, my parents never warned me about Mormons. And I didn't find out that he was mormon until after the honeymoon. He took out his 'Book of Mormon,' 'Doc and Covenants,' and his version of the 'King James Version' of the bible. He tried to convince me that his church was the only church and that my church was apostate. But, my gut instinct helped me argue the points he wanted to make. First, I took him to the end of the Bible where it says not to add or take away parts from the bible. Then, I told him, he couldn't take verses out of context and make the mean what he said they meant. I stuck to my faith the whole time I was in the relationship. And on Mother's Day in 1992, the lord blessed me with the 'Holy Spirit.' I have been able to stay strong ever since. I was able to argue that my sons had the right to choose since he lied to me. And both of them are Christians and attend my church. God is good when you have faith in him, no matter what happens!" Becky

Another Day at The DMV

Just another day at the DMV.

Been in Seattle for a few weeks of medical tests and vigorous prodding, trying to figure out why my body is starting to act like one with its own mind about how, why or where it is or is not going. A good friend said it wasn’t age that gets you, it’s the mileage. Guess that’s true. Even my walker won’t go where I aim it.

Because of a return of dyslexia, I have been banned from the computer for a while, but had to share a few funny things this morning anyway.

Got a call from a broken hearted, angry with the system, granddaughter the other day. Seems she was taking her driver’s test and the instructor/tester guy told her half way through the driving test to turn around and return to the DMV. She had already far exceeded the number of errors to pass the test.

I had to laugh. Her older uncle, who, today, is a certified race car driver, flunked his first test when he ran a stop sign. He told the instructor that he had already stopped at a stop sign a block away and didn’t think it made sense that they would make him do it twice. Glad he doesn’t drive Toyotas.

His older brother was told to pull off the road five minutes into his test and told to breathe normally for 5 minutes before resuming the test. He passed thanks to a caring instructor.

One lady I know not only failed but was given a ticket for freezing up and blocking a Fire Engine from getting out of its garage onto the street. Her excuse was that the all the sirens scared her.

My wife was driving her car through an intersection, on a green light when she was broadsided by a car, whipping through against the red light. Turned out it was a young girl taking her driver’s test. Through her tears, she cried out to the instructor, “Does this mean I don’t pass the test?”

My Neighbor and I were walking out of a DMV office after getting bus driver OKs for our licenses. A car a was pulling into the parking slot by the door, as a happy mom was waving victory signs at her son, who continued to drive straight through the plate glass window and into the waiting room.

You gotta wonder what goes through the minds of these dear souls who get into cars with these new drivers. I think there is a lot of fear.

I was moving from one state to another and it required that I take the driving test to get the new license. I was like number 4 on the list and the car with number three came in, jumping the curb crossing the sidewalk and landing against a chain link fence.

The officer slowly got out, filled out some paperwork, quietly told the young lady to take it in to the clerk and turned to me, standing at the door of my own vehicle.

“Get in,” he said sharply, which I quickly did.

He put his head back against the head rest. “Drive.”

“Where?”

“Anywhere. Just drive and don’t talk.”

Fifteen minutes later, he let out deep sigh and said, “OK, Let’s go back now. Just don’t talk.”

Fifteen minutes later, I pulled into a free spot at the DMV and he stepped out, smiled, said thanks and handed me a sheet that said PASSED.

Just one last story: I was renewing my license and slowly working my way out of a very crowded parking lot when a young girl backed out right smack into the side of my old beater 1976 Ford pick-up.

The Kid was beyond destroyed. The look of immediate death was written all over her face.

Her mother, first time passenger with daughter was moaning like a cow birthing its first calf.

I looked at the dents she made among the many other dents to the truck over the years, smiled wistfully and said.. “Having lived through this with 7 of my own kids, I understand your pain. Mom, drive your daughter home and be happy my BMW is in the shop.”

With that, I hopped back into my truck, did not look back and finally worked my way out to the real world, away from the world of the DMV.

At least down here in the desert, we don’t have as much of an issue since a third of the drivers have never visited a DMV office to take the tests.Comments (0)

February 2009 Update Report

Note From Ed

I have been holding off sending this update so that it coincided with the installation of our new website. Were that it were so. We are ‘on the edge.’ I was told the 1st of January, then the 1st of February and now we are shooting for the 15th of February. Yes… this year.. Pray for me!
Problem is that I have thousands of things on the site, running from Newsletters to video clips to books to articles to my new blog to a bookstore to old audio files I want to be also available for iPod downloads and even a whole section for the works of the late John L. Smith.

Keep us in prayer. We will have an interactive site for you and it will be soon. We have had to go outside the ministry for professional help and while it has been costly, it is probably the smartest thing we have done with the site since we started this process so long ago.

Meanwhile, I have had to go through every file and review, edit, update and expand. That is finished…thankfully so. What a project that was.

While January has been a tight month financially, it has been a profitable month in souls... So many have been writing, emailing in about finding the real Jesus that I am ecstatic. I am going to print out a few of the notes that have come in.

Another Thought about the New Website

Needless to say, the cost of the website, the technical support and our own server is pretty expensive, especially in tight times like we are now all experiencing.

Because the site does not support itself with donations from its users, we must find ways to keep it functioning. One way is to do advertising. We have signed up with Google Adsense and the site will have ads posted by Google that are triggered by key words such as Christian, Mormon, LDS, Masons, Bible, etc.

Do not be shocked to see an ad for LDS Singles. We have not gone to Hell in a hand-basket. These ads will generate the dollars we need to keep the thousands of articles and items on the site available at no cost for you.

One other solution is that YOU and those with whom you do business may want to buy ad space on the site with a monthly fee… guaranteed to have a prime ad position.

Another way would be for a number of you to commit a small dollar amount each month and when that gains enough ground, we would be able to drop the advertising.

Egyptian Coptic Christian girls are being abducted,

slaves of Islam

Ten years ago, I [ Julia] was in Egypt interviewing Coptic Christians who described how persecution by Muslims had become a way of life for them. The situation is worse now because of increased abductions of Coptic girls, who are forced into a sham marriage with a Muslim, raped, forced to convert to Islam and separated for good from their families.

These are girls as young as 12 who are being grabbed off Egyptian streets. Photos are taken while the girl is being raped to blackmail her into converting, says Mary Abdelmassih, a Coptic activist.

"She's told the pictures will go to her family," she told me. "They'd rather die than have that happen." Today (Jan. 7) being the Coptic Christmas, this as good a time as any to describe how these kidnappings are at epidemic levels in Egypt and how the plight of these poor women has become Christian sex slavery.

Earth religion worship area opens AF academy

DENVER -- The Air Force Academy has set aside an outdoor worship area for Pagans, Wiccans, Druids and other Earth-centered believers, school officials said Monday.

A double circle of stones atop a hill on the campus near Colorado Springs has been designated for the group, which previously met indoors.

“Being with nature and connecting with it is kind of the whole point,” said Tech. Sgt. Brandon Longcrier, who sponsors the group and describes himself as a Pagan. “It will dramatically improve that atmosphere, the mindset and the actual connection.”

The stones were moved to the hilltop last year because erosion threatened to make them unstable in their previous location near the visitors’ center. Crews arranged them in two concentric circles because they thought it would be a pleasant place for cadets to relax, Longcrier said.

Mormonism teaches that

"As man is, God once was, and as God is,

man may become"

Upon this axiom is based the entire theology of Mormonism.

From the Temple rituals for the living to those for their dead, from the teaching that Families are forever to the pressure on parents to send their youth to the mission fields across the world, the Mormon people are committed to a controlled program that maps out their entire lives as they seek their own exaltation and godhood. Let us look at this mystery religion in simple terms.

Mormonism teaches that trillions of planets scattered throughout the cosmos are ruled by countless gods who once were human like us.

They say that long ago, on one of these planets, to an unidentified god and one of his goddess wives, a spirit child named Elohim was conceived. This spirit child was later born to human parents who gave him a physical body.

Through obedience to Mormon teaching, death and resurrection, he proved himself worthy and was elevated to godhood as his father before him.

Mormons believe that Elohim is their Heavenly Father and that he lives with his many wives on a planet near a mysterious star called Kolob. Here the god of Mormonism and his wives, through endless Celestial sex, produced billions of spirit children

To decide their destiny, the head of the Mormon gods called a great heavenly council meeting. Both of Elohim's eldest sons were there, Lucifer and his brother Jesus.

A plan was presented to build planet earth where the spirit children would be sent to take on mortal bodies and learn good from evil. Lucifer stood and made his bid for becoming saviour of this new world. Wanting the glory for himself, he planned to force everyone to become gods. Opposing the idea, the Mormon Jesus suggested giving man his freedom of choice as on other planets. The vote that followed approved the proposal of the Mormon Jesus who would become saviour of the planet earth.

Enraged, Lucifer cunningly convinced one-third of the spirits destined for earth to fight with him and revolt. Thus, Lucifer became the devil and his followers the demons. Sent to this world in spirit form, they would forever be denied bodies of flesh and bone.

Those who remained neutral in the battle were cursed to be born with black skin. This is the Mormon explanation for the negro race. The spirits that fought most valiantly against Lucifer would be born into Mormon families on planet earth. These would be the lighter skinned people, or white and delightsome, as the Book of Mormon described them.

Early Mormon prophets taught that Elohim and one of his goddess wives came to the earth as Adam and Eve to start the human race. Thousands of years later, Elohim in human form once again journeyed to earth from the star base Kolob, this time to have physical relations with the Virgin Mary in order to provide Jesus with a physical body.

Mormon Apostle Orson Hyde taught that after Jesus Christ grew to manhood, he took at least three wives, Mary, Martha and Mary Magdalene. Through these wives, the Mormon Jesus, supposedly fathered a number of children before he was crucified. Mormon founder, Joseph Smith, is supposedly one of his descendants.

According to the Book of Mormon, after his resurrection, Jesus came to the Americas to preach to the Indians who the Mormons believe are really Israelites. Thus, the Jesus of Mormonism established his church in the Americas as he had in Palestine. By the year 421 A.D., the dark skinned Israelites, known as the Lamanites, had destroyed all of the white skinned Nephites in a number of great battles. The Nephites' records were supposedly written on golden plates buried in the Hill Cummorah by Moroni, the last living Nephite.

400 years later, a young treasure seeker named Joseph Smith, who was known for his tall tales, claimed to have uncovered the same gold plates near his home in upstate New York. He is now honored by Mormons as a prophet because he claimed to have had visions from the spirit world in which he was commanded to organize the Mormon Church because all Christian creeds were an abomination. Joseph Smith originated most of these peculiar doctrines that millions today believe to be true.

By maintaining a rigid code of financial and moral requirements, and through performing secret temple rituals for themselves and the dead, the Latter-day Saints hope to prove their worthiness and thus become gods. The Mormons teach that everyone must stand at the final judgment before Joseph Smith, the Mormon Jesus, and Elohim.

Those Mormons who are sealed in the eternal marriage ceremony in LDS temples expect to become polygamous gods or their goddess wives in the Celestial Kingdom, rule over other planets and spawn new families throughout eternity. The Mormons thank God for Joseph Smith, who claimed that he had done more for us than any other man, including Jesus Christ. The Mormons claim that he died as a martyr, shed his blood for us, so that we, too, may become Gods. (end)

Shocking, incomprehensible? Maybe to you and to me, but this is the core of Mormon theology and it binds its believers away from the real Jesus, the real gospel and the real spirit of truth as surely as though they were locked away in chains of metal.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I am submitting this as a letter of resignation, effective immediately, for any and all affiliations with this or any other Masonic organization, including but not limited to blue lodge, Scottish rites and Joppa temple shrine.

I have been involved in this organization for about twenty years. I joined in good faith and thought I knew what I was joining. Most all of the men I knew who were “masons” were honorable people. This is still true today. My father, my father’s father, and a number of my family were in this organization during their lives.

However; I did not know until recently that the organization was in such conflict with the Holy Bible and the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. I began my walk with Jesus much later in life. Nevertheless, I now know the true meaning of life. After reviewing the principles of freemasonry and the Bible, I see the contradictions. I could reference many scriptures, but that could go on for a long while. Those who are truly familiar with the Holy Bible know the ones to which I refer. However, for the benefit of those who may not, I reference:

Freemasonry teaches that members must swear oaths on the Bible that involve mutilation and murder of human beings. But, the New Testament forbids the taking of oaths (Matthew 5:34-37; James 5:12) The Bible also forbids taking God’s name in vain and committing murder (Exodus 20:7,13).

Freemasonry teaches members should address their leaders with titles like “Worshipful Master” and kneel before them. But, the Bible commands us to call no one master save Jesus (Matthew 6:24; 23:8-10) and to worship none except God (Matthew 4:10; Revelation 22:8,9).

I renounce, reject, repent of every word that has ever proceeded out of my mouth against My Lord or His Holy Word. I cancel its power and dedicate my mouth to speak right things. My mouth shall utter truth. I break any and all bonds or oaths that were taken by me while a member of this organization, during the three degree periods of study or any other time whatsoever.

I break the power of any curses or oaths that any member of my family may have spoken in the Masonic lodge, whether in this generation or in generations past. I re of allegiance to freemasonry in its entirety and in any form whatsoever.

Ed, My husband and I just finished reading your book...We could not believe what we were reading, you were right on with how the LDS church and Temple runs. After My husband and I watched the Passion of Christ I had this feeling right after walking out of the theater that I wanted nothing to do with the Mormon church.

I felt like the movie spelled it out about what it's all about. I told my husband it's not about the church or the temple etc...My husband and I are not active members and haven't been for six years. Three days ago we wrote a letter to the church requesting to have our names and two children removed form there records. We have accepted Christ into our hearts and will never partake in Satan's church ever again. I'm a Pro-Choice Kind of Guy

I am a Pro Choice kind of guy!

You have to wonder why organizations such as Planned Parenthood the National Organization for Women (NOW), the Feminist Majority Foundation, the Women’s Media Center, and the many other “pro-choice” outfits are all going crazy mad over a 30 second Super Bowl commercial sponsored by Focus on the Family?

If they had just been quiet, nobody would have even noticed the ad. Now a hundred million people will be watching for it. It is almost like they are doing Focus on The Family a favor by snapping up the gauntlet.

Florida All-American and Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom, Pam, share a quick insight to Pam’s medical and spiritual dilemma when she was pregnant with Tim. Her doctors told her it would be much better for her health if she aborted.

She had a choice to make and she chose not to abort.. She obviously made it through the pregnancy and The Story ends with her son earning some of the highest accolades in the college level sporting world. Looks like she made a good choice.

I don’t see what all the pro-choice people are screaming about. Seems his mom was pro-choice, too. Except that she chose not to abort the baby.

Seems there really are only two choices. One is to abort and kill the unborn baby, or fetus, if that term is less offensive and makes the unborn child less alive. The other one is to not abort, but to give birth to the fetus, now a baby human being. One choice is a living baby and one is a dead fetus[unborn baby].

Simple, isn't it.

I think that pro-choice people really are not pro-choice at all. Obviously by their own negative remarks against anyone who espouses a pro-life position, there is only one choice and it isn’t ‘life,’ I guess in a mathematical sense if you are not pro-life, you are pro not-life.

I am a pro-choice kind of guy and I choose life, even for those pesky sea lions and spotted owls… and even all the wild dogs in Duroville that can be captured, tamed and adopted..

Ted’s mom is the living example of pro-choice, except with her choice, her baby lived. Good for her. Bad for these people making fools of themselves and their claim of being pro-choice.

Sweating The Small Stuff

Sweating the Small stuff

I’m not sure who said “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” I know some Phd wrote a book or two about it. Usually, I can’t do a thing about the big stuff and wasting my time and energy sweating about the big stuff gets me nothing except indigestion. My wife handles all the big stuff, anyway. It’s the small stuff that keeps my interest.

I wonder where the Desert Sun gets its rubber bands. When my paper is ‘rubber-banded’ in one, it is always dirty. Do they buy them that way from a used rubber-band place or is the Sun using so much ink that just putting one on gets it all dirty?

I personally like the ones the Post Office uses. They are wider, thicker and almost always new and clean. . I use them around the house for all sorts of things. I put the ‘Desert Sun’ ones in the trash container before I even get back in the house.

I have never figured out why anyone would enjoy using toilet tissue mounted with the leading sheet under the roll. It makes no sense at all. When the leading sheet is over the top, it is easy to get at. No groping around under the roll, usually mounted in an awkward, hard to reach spot, anyway.

When I’m out at someone else’s home or at a restaurant, I feel compelled to correct any roll that is improperly mounted. It is just something that would nag at me the entire time I am there if I didn’t do that. I do not tell other people [oops] about that little quirk.

I also find myself often taking a paper towel and wiping down the sink splashes in restaurant and airport restrooms. I just do not understand how some people can be so thoughtless of others.

I read the obituaries every day. I’m Ok if most of the people listed are older than me, but I have a bad day when most are younger. I have come to realize that at my age, I have more descendants now than I have friends. They’re going faster than I like.

My wife said, “Ned, stop worrying about this. Just slow down, you will last longer. And Ned, be nicer to the kids. They will probably be choosing our rest home.”

It annoys me that the street lights on East Ramon Road are the most unsynchronized lights in California. I am convinced that they are designed to force stop me at every single intersection, even when there is no cross traffic.

There must be a hidden device on my car that some sadistic traffic controller has placed there, just hoping I drive on Ramon. I think he sits there, watching me pull off Highway 10 on his traffic computer and then with cackling joy, pops the red light button at every light I approach.

I have yet to figure out how a golf ball that I hit straight down the fairway can suddenly pick up speed and veer off at a sharp angle, usually ending up hitting a roof of a house where the occupant is standing in the yard. Never an vacant house, where I can quietly sneak by.

I have tried to trick the ball and compensate by aiming at a house, but then it goes exactly where I aimed it. It is demonic.

Sometimes, a little article on an off page in the newspaper stays with me for days. I wake up in the middle of the night, sweating over it. Here are two that had me awake at 3 AM this morning.

Just the other day, I read that California Governor Schwarzenegger, in a cost savings effort, was planning on releasing 6,000 inmates from the state prisons on Monday.

In another article, cleverly hidden in a different section of the paper, it was announced that the state will stop its parole monitoring of low-level offenders after their release.

This is being done, in order to reduce the number of parolees returning to prison for violating their parole, because if they aren’t monitoring the parolees, the state will not know if they are violating the terms of their parole.

Does anyone but me, most of the legitimate citizens of Desert Hot Springs and most of the owners of convenience stores throughout the state feel like these are really, really bad ideas?

The Day The Crossword Puzzles Stopped

One of my earliest recollections of my father is looking up at him at the kitchen table working his daily crossword puzzle. It was a daily routine that never varied over the entire time I was growing up and living at home. Even later visits at Mom and Dad’s home or at mine always included that somber ritual, around which all other schedules for the day revolved.

I am sure dad learned it from his father, who worked his puzzles while perched on his high-legged stool at a check in counter at the pool hall he ran for years.

Actually, crossword puzzles were a new thing back in my grandfather’s day. The first known published crossword puzzle was created by a journalist named Arthur Wynne from Liverpool, and he is usually credited as the inventor of the popular word game. December 21, 1913 was the date and it appeared in a Sunday newspaper, the New York World.

One of the last to enter the world of crossword obsession was the New York Times, which first published a Sunday puzzle in 1942 and a daily puzzle in 1950. I am convinced that both my father and my grandfather did them both in ink. The Daily News followed along with the trend, but the Times was always the true standard

Crossword puzzles are a family addiction. I was doing the daily puzzles in the break room at the ACME supermarket where I worked throughout high school. My sister, Nan, and I fought over the rare un-inked crossword that we would come across at home, and we often brought spares home from discarded newspapers we hunted for during the day.

These last few years I had a crossword puzzle routine that included my daily newspaper, USA Today, NY Times, LA Times, Chicago Tribune and any other I would stumble upon. No Airline magazine puzzle went undone on my shift. It was also required by my DNA that all crosswords were done in ink.

My father lost his sight to Macular Degeneration and in the years that followed until his passing away, mom would read the NY Times Crossword clues to him and he would give her the answers to write in, still always in ink.

Until my sister passed away, her own puzzle book and pen at her bedside, we would go out to dad’s memorial site with mom, have lunch and do a puzzle for dad.

Now it has stopped. Oh, my son, Jeff still carries on the tradition, but one day it just ended for me. Maybe it is just my age, I can’t explain it. It is just over.

Sometime around the beginning of November, I opened the Desert Sun and turned to the crossword page, pen poised and looked at the puzzle before me. I just stared at it for several minutes, not moving. Then I refolded he paper, put the pen away and left the room. The first time in almost 60 years. An un-done crossword puzzle.

Since that day, I have not touched a single puzzle. I tried. I just could not do it.

It reminded me of that scene in the movie, “Forrest Gump.” He had been running a back and forth across America until one day, in the middle of no-where, he just stopped. When his little group of devotees asked what was wrong, he said he just didn’t want to run any more.

I just don’t want to do crossword puzzles anymore. Strange. Now I am growing a little grey beard instead. Is this what growing old does to you?

A Note from Ed

I wonder if I can get this message out of my gut right now. It has been brewing there for months, just hanging around beneath the surface. It isn’t my usual topic of discussion.

If you are wondering what is happening to our country right now, it is not much of a mystery. It has been coming for a long time and it is going to get a lot worse.

It is imperative that we place our faith and trust in the Lord and not the government leaders, not in the economy, not in our savings or our retirement plans and our health insurance policies, nor in our credit lines and definitely not in the news.

The founding Fathers created a map or plan for the future when they came out with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. It was not perfect, but it gave the fledgling government something on which to stand and it was based on faith in God and laws based on His principles.

Today, that base has been crumbling all around us. One of the central positions of the newly formed Republic was the right to worship freely. Our forefathers had escaped from a world of State controlled religions and wanted that yoke broken from the people. Today, the one religion that seems despised and repugnant to our leaders is Christianity, while Islam is welcomed with open arms.

What was once freedom of religion has become freedom from religion and the freedom to do or say any foul or despicable thing that can be conceived in the corrupt human mind. In fact, in many cases, these things are done at taxpayer expense with government approval.

There is no need to go through the list. You know the evils that are pulling this once great country into the sewer. I have said repeatedly that we are entering into the post Christian era. Even much of the church is swirling around in darkness, grasping at one new extra-biblical concept after the other, trying to reconcile its platform to new ideologies.

With pastors being jailed for speaking out against blatant sin and the Hate Crime Bill particulars spreading to include ‘hurtful’ speech against a person’s faith, and with government plans for taxing everything that is not nailed down and most of what is nailed down, I believe that ministries like Saints Alive will be shut down within the next five years.

I see tax exemptions for churches; their properties and the tithes and gifts of their congregations going away next.
Friends, it is time to stand up and be the kinds of Christians that paved the way for the freedoms this nation once had. It is time to be bold for Christ and take back what the enemy would steal. Be as the bold men and women of God who endured tortures and death to speak as ambassadors for the true King.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,

which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly,

The Muslim Plan for World Dominion

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.
Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.

When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.

Here's how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%

Australia -- Muslim 1..5%

Canada -- Muslim 1.9%

China -- Muslim 1.8%

Italy -- Muslim 1.5%

Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%

Germany -- Muslim 3.7%

United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%

Spain -- Muslim 4%

Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%

Philippines -- 5%

Sweden -- Muslim 5%

Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%

The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%

Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%

India -- Muslim 13.4%

Israel -- Muslim 16%

Kenya -- Muslim 10%

Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%

Chad -- Muslim 53.1%

Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania -- Muslim 70%

Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%

Qatar -- Muslim 77..5%

Sudan -- Muslim 70%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%

Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%

Somalia -- Muslim 100%

Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Christians of Egypt are Massacred,
and President Mubarak is Still Silent

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Copts, Egypt's Christian minority, number approximately 12 million, about 15% of Egypt's population. Under the rule of President Mubarak, violent attacks against them run rampant. These attacks were once carried out mainly by organized Islamic terrorist groups. The climate of hatred in Egypt has worsened to the point that attacks against Christians are now carried out by their Muslim neighbors.

The latest attack took place in Naga Hamady, Upper Egypt, during the late hours of Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Drive-by gunmen opened fire from machineguns at worshippers coming out of church after celebrating Coptic Christmas mass. Seven people were instantly killed, and many others were seriously wounded.

President Mubarak, now in power for almost 3 decades, during which 7 American presidents took office, turns a blind eye to what happens to the Coptic citizens of his country.

Egypt, the recipient of 2 billion dollars yearly of American foreign aid since the signing of the Camp David peace treaty in1978, can not continue abusing the human rights of its Coptic Christian citizens, a basic perquisite for receiving American foreign aid.

is from his Mormon doctrine that says

Negro race comes from the curse of Cain.

FOR NEARLY 140 YEARS, Mormonism (the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints") has taught that the black people are "inferior" and are "cursed" by God. The Mormon leaders who have taught these things in the name of Christianity are revered as "prophets, seers and revelators" by their Church, and their plain words about these cruel, unscriptural teachings remain for the world to judge.

However, in June, 1978, Mormon leaders attempted to erase over a century of outside resentment with the announcement that "worthy" black persons could receive privileges and secret initiations which had always been denied them in Mormonism. This strange, unexpected turnabout came as Mormon leaders were planning to initiate their final drive to send their "missionaries" into the remaining lands of the world where Mormonism has been most resisted—particularly Africa.

Surely, this cannot be mere coincidence. Nevertheless, the firm Mormon teaching that a whole race of people are "cursed with a black skin" for sins committed by them before they were born remains to this very day, no announcement or "revelation" has removed it.

The following quotations, taken from authoritative doctrinal writings and speeches by Mormon Prophets (their supreme earthly leaders) and Apostles, should serve as a sobering warning of the true nature of Mormonism. It is a religion which curses an entire people one day, and offers them greater privileges" the next.

BRIGHAM YOUNG

(Second Prophet and President of the Mormon Church)

"I have never yet preached a sermon and sent it out to the Children of men, that they may not call scripture!" Journal of Discourses, Volume 13, page 95.

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable, sad, low in their habits, wild, ad seemingly without the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be and the Lord put a mark on him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then other curse is pronounced upon the same race - that they would be the "servant of servants;" and they will be, until that curse is removed; and the Abolitionists cannot help it, nor in the least alter that decree." "....in a broad general sense, caste systems have their root and origin in the gospel itself, and when they operate according to the divine decree, the resultant restrictions and segregation are right and proper and have the approval of the Lord. To illustrate: Cain Ham, and the whole negro race have _ cursed with a black skin, the mark of Cain, so they can be identified as a caste apart, a people with whom the other descendants of Adam should not intermarry." In spite of all he did in the pre-existent life, the Lord is willing, if the Negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost....

6. Police called to East Jessamine Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky to stop 8th graders from praying during their lunch break for a student whose mother was tragically killed.

After over 50 years of being a Mormon, leaving it, researching it, writing extensively about it in a number of books, doing years of radio in Mormon-land, ministering to the Mormon people about the grace of Christ, and studying my Bible all this time……

I woke up during the night last week with a deep burden for the Mormon people who seek a god

separated from them by a hierarchy of men and a series of works and secret rituals. Later in the week, some words in a sermon at our church confirmed what I felt in my heart and I clearly saw what I will call

The Achilles’ Heel of Mormonism.

Because of the extreme gravity of this subject, I will be presenting this in two parts. The first part will be a presentation of this indefensible error of Mormonism. The second will be an open discussion, working with your own responses to what I present. I am purposely leaving some of the edges off the information, so as not to confuse what I am presenting, so please bear with me.

I have called it the Achilles’ Heel of Mormonism because the expression, Achilles’ Heel, is a metaphor for a fatal weakness that in spite of overall strength, can actually lead to downfall.

It is my argument that the facts here-in prove that Mormonism is fully outside orthodox, Biblical Christianity, and is, in fact, one of the anti-Christs spoken of in 1 John 2:18-21. Hard words, but true. The can be no if, ands or buts here.

When I woke up at 2 AM that night, my mind/thoughts were focused on that moment when, as a Mormon, I stood before the great white veil in the Los Angeles LDS temple.

I remembered vividly that I was in such awe of its presence there before me. I knew that it represented the separation of man and God and now I was to step up and demonstrate my knowledge of all the sacred, names, tokens and hand grips and would then be able to enter through that veil.

As I lay there considering that strange event and wondering why on earth I lay awake mulling over something I experienced over 40 years ago, my thoughts drifted to Calvary and I could see, in my mind’s eye, Christ on the Cross, crying out, “It is finished!”

Then, as if it came from the other room, it was as though I heard a loud tearing and ripping and I knew it was the sounds of the temple veil being ‘rent’ apart. I cannot explain the event any deeper. It was just one of those times that you wake up to something that the Lord wants you to think about, something out of the blue that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at the time.

Over the next week I began to have a more emphatic and deeper understanding of something I have known for many years - what I experienced in the Mormon temple ritual could not be of God if what Jesus did at Calvary was of God. It's either Jesus or Joseph; the Temple or the Cross and it was then that I saw this was the Achilles’ heel of Mormonism. Let me explain.

For what Mormonism teaches as one of its core doctrines and what it’s adherents practice at the Veil in its most solemn ritual, clearly makes manifest the anti-Christ practice that assures “that they are not of us [Biblical Christianity].and may I add, until they repent, never will be.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 1 John 2:20-21KJV

In logic, the Principle of contradiction is the second of the so-called three classic laws of thought. It states that two opposing, contradictory positions in a matter cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense. Mormonism cannot be both Christian and an Anti-Christ.

The sermon at church that triggered my understanding of this was about having intimacy with God, that oneness that Christ spoke described:

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. KJV John 17:17-23

This is the wonderful life of the born-again Christian believer. Intimacy with God through Christ. We no longer must bring our sin offerings to a priest. God is no longer on the other side of a temple veil. He dwells within us, by the power of His Holy Spirit.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Gal 2:20-21 KJV

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Cor 3:16 KJV

Adam and Eve enjoyed intimacy with God, until sin separated them from that relationship. From that time on, until Christ, prophets were the intermediates of God for the communication of His mind and will to men.

At the time of Moses’ visitation with God on the mountain top and the quaking in fear of the people at the thunderous voice of God from above, it was clear that the people wanted someone to be between them and God, to act for their benefit,

As Israel formalized the structure of its worship, temples were built and within the temple, a veil separated the people from the Holy of Holies, the place of God’s Presence.

The veil of the temple. According to the Rabbis, this was a handbreadth in thickness, and woven of seventy-two twisted plaits, each plait consisting of twenty-four threads. It was sixty feet long and thirty wide. Two of them were made every year, and according to the exaggerated language of the time, it needed three hundred priests to manipulate it.

This veil was the one which covered the entrance to the holy of holies, and not, as has been asserted, the veil which hung before the main entrance to the sanctuary.

The Holy of Holies contained only a large stone, on which the high priest sprinkled the blood on the Day of Atonement, occupying the place where the ark with the mercy-seat had stood. This practice continued until and during the days of Christ. The Jewish people still brought their sin offerings to the temple and on the Day of Atonement, the high priest stepped through the veil into the Holy of Holies, on behalf of the people.

However, things were changing. John the Baptist rose up as the last of the prophets. Christ, himself, made it clear that a new thing was in place regarding man’s communication with God. Jesus said:

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. Matt 11:13 KJV

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke 16:16 KJV

Who was to take that place between Man and God from that day forth? Jesus.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; Heb 1:1-2 KJV

Jesus presented new doctrine, a new salvation message, a new way to have personal intimacy with God. The religious leaders of that day were intimidated by Him and His teachings. He told his disciples to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. He told the Pharisees and Sadducees:

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44 KJV

Let us now fast forward to the Cross, to Christ’s redemptive gift of his life for us on Calvary.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Rom 5:8-10 KJV

You see, Christ went to the cross as the “once and for all sacrifice” for the redemption of the sins of mankind. All we have to do to accept it.

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. Heb 5:8-10 KJV

The key here is that his shed blood was the end of the work of sacrifice, the end of the temple era. No longer was there a need for a high priest to go through the temple veil and face God on our behalf.

Christ had fulfilled that need once and forever. He became our high priest, in a priesthood of one, and through him, all of His people had access to God without a veil to separate them. In His death, He tore down that separation.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb 9:12-14 KJV

No longer was there a need for a high priest to continue the dead works of the temple. No need for a veil of separation. Christ had fulfilled the law completely. To offer up any more sacrifice, even of our own works to earn worthiness is to reject the blood of Christ. I suggest that this denial of his blood sacrifice is the reason the Mormons use water in their communion.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bearthe sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Heb 9: 24-28 KJV

I have gone into this in a bit more detail so that you fully understand what happened at Calvary, when Christ died on the Cross. I had to pick and choose from among literally dozens of scriptures that explain what was taking place. This is not a mystery.

Christ’s death was the final act of the Old Testament. It was the end of the law and the prophets. It was the literal restoration of man’s ability to have intimacy with God, by the hand of God through the sacrifice of His only begotten son…

It is not just a saying that people flash in the end zones at football games. It is the word of God through Christ

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:14-16 KJV

When Christ hung on the Cross, eternity stood still. And when it was over, something eternally significant happened. It was God Himself, restoring our intimacy with Him. Matthew, Mark and Luke each described it.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matt 27:50-51KJV

Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. Mark 15:37-38KJV

And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst, And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost. Luke 23:45-46 KJV

The Great theologian Matthew Henry said of this moment, that

“It bespeaks a great deal of comfort to all believing Christians, for it signifies the consecrating and laying open to us of a new and living way into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.”

You see, from that moment on, there never has been a need for a veil to stand between man and God or a priestly intercessor to take our place. Christ did away with the entire reason for such an obstacle to be between God and his children.

To keep the veil between the people and God is to refuse to accept the gift of personal salvation given freely at the Cross. To keep the veil is to deny that Jesus is the Christ, the one who fully redeemed us.

To place a veil between God and man is to deny Christ, deny the power of the cross in uniting man with God and to mock God’s reason for the sacrifice of Christ.

It is only as an anti-Christ that a church calling itself by the name of Christ would return to the very veil Christ had done away with.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Cor 11:3-4,13-15 KJV

This is not a new revelation in the Scripture. The Early Church had been warned that deceivers like the prophets of the Mormon Church would be coming after them

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matt 24:23-24 KJV

And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. Mark 13:21-22 KJV

To make matters worse, the Mormon prophets say that God is a man, born on another planet , whose works earned him godhood. That is the god who stands on the other side of the Mormon veil.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom 1:21-25 KJV

The promise is given that if the Mormon is judged worthy enough, he/she can attain godhood, but only if he/she goes through the temple ritual and is able to cross behind the veil,

To even get to the temple veil, the Mormon must stand before a counterfeit priesthood [see footnote 1.] to be judged worthy enough to stand before the veil they have placed between the member and God.

This worthiness is judged every year. A major part of this judgment is determined at the annual ‘tithing settlement.’ Not up-to-date on tithing? No Temple recommend. Every Mormon must earn the right to go to the temple and step through the veil by his/her own works. All Male Temple applicants must be members of the Melchizedek priesthood.

When the worthy Mormon stands before the veil in the temple, there is a temple worker standing on the opposite side of the veil, portraying the Lord. Now, the member must demonstrate through slits in the veil, that he/she knows all the secret handgrips, code words and be able to demonstrate the 5 points of fellowship through the veil [see footnote 2.]

I commented a long time ago that Satan was not going to come after you looking like a 14 foot frog, but as something sweet and lovely, even as an angel of light. Not surprisingly, that is how Joseph Smith described the heavenly beings in his first vision story.

Mormonism may appear to be Christian, but it brings a system of beliefs and rituals incompatible with Christianity and without any redemptive value to the believer.

This denial of Christ’s shed blood on Calvary is the reason there are no crosses in or on any Mormon building or temple and why they use water in their counterfeit communion. They go so far away from Biblical truth as to say it was in the Garden of Gethsemane where the atonement of Christ took place, not the cross. [See Footnote 3.]

In conclusion, the Mormon ritual that brings the adherent to stand in front of a supposed holy veil that separates them from the presence of God is to deny Christ and Calvary. In truth, it Biblically places them fully in the position of an anti—Christ.

They cannot be Christians and perform acts of worship that deny the very reason for Christ’s presence among men. A thing cannot be and not be at the same time. One is truth, the other a lie.

The Christ of the Cross is truth. The Christ of the Mormon veil is a lie.

There is a way that seems right to a man,

But its end is the way of death.

Footnotes:

!. Mormon Priesthood

First, you need to know that the LDS Church has illegally usurped the Melchizedek priesthood. It was never theirs to give, Christ became our high priest after the order of Melchizedek and it has always been a priesthood of one.

This false priesthood is found in esoteric groups like the Mormons and the Masons. It is not biblical. The true Melchizedec priesthood only existed as a priesthood of one, before the law was given and in Christ, after the law was ended. The Mormons have stolen the very priesthood of Jesus Christ

In almost every patriarchal blessing given in Mormonism, the believer is told he/she is of the tribe of Manasseh or Ephraim. Supposedly, when one is baptized into the LDS church, one’s gentile blood is transformed into one of these two bloodlines, making the Mormon part of true Israel.

This was a shock to me, since I already was born into the bloodline of the house of Levi. The Mormon god had taken my Jewish bloodline and switched it to an un-priestly one me.

2. Five Points of Fellowship at the Veil.

PATRON: The Second Token of the Melchizedek Priesthood, the Patriarchal Grip, or Sure Sign of the Nail.

LORD: Has it an name?

PATRON: It has.

LORD: Will you give it to me?

PATRON: I will, through the Veil.--Health in the navel, marrow in the bones, strength in the loins and in the sinews, power in the Priesthood be upon me, and upon my posterity through all generations of time, and throughout all eternity.

LORD: That is correct.

(The Lord and patron break the ceremonial embrace, and the temple worker gives three taps with the mallet.)

LORD: What is wanted?

WORKER: Adam, having conversed with the Lord through the Veil, desires now to enter his presence.

LORD: Let him enter.

(The Veil is now parted and the Lord takes the patron by the right hand, and pulls him gently through the Veil into the Celestial Room.)

3. The LDS Teaching on Christ’s atonement for the sins of mankind

"And as he came out of the Garden, delivering himself voluntarily into the hands of wicked men, the victory had been won. There remained yet the shame and the pain of his attest, his trials, and his cross. But all these were overshadowed by the agonies and sufferings in Gethsemane. It was on the cross that he 'suffered death in the flesh,' even as many have suffered agonizing deaths, but it was in Gethsemane that "he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him." (Bruce R. McConkie, The Mortal Messiah, pp. 127-128).

"It was in Gethsemane that Jesus took on Himself the sins of the world, in Gethsemane that His pain was equivalent to the cumulative burden of all men, in Gethsemane that He descended below all things so that all could repent and come to Him" (Ezra Taft Benson, Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p.15).

"Forgiveness is available because Christ the Lord sweat great drops of blood in Gethsemane as he bore the incalculable weight of the sins of all who ever had or ever would repent" (Bruce R. McConkie, The Promised Messiah, p. 337).
